Muay Boran, on the other hand, means old style boxing. Muay Boran is the name for a standardized collection of old styles of Muay Thai including Muay Chai Cheurk, Muay Chaiya etc. Muay Boran is the traditional art and Muay Thai is the sport ;)

However they do not have the tools to take down a Thai Boxer of similar ability/experience.
Its quite easy to see that a boxer is limited to only 2 weapons where as a Thai Boxer has 8 plus throws and grappling. A boxer can only use the range equal to that of his punches where as a good Nak Muay can use kicking, punching, kneeing and elbow ranges.

Imran Khan - best Thai fighter from the UK inmy opinion. Especially with full Thai rules. Looks very religious too. A man of faith. This was probably not his best fight but still got the job done.

Al Hamdulilah, I just watched Imran win on channel 5 vs a dutch guy, the guy quit complaining about low blows but he hadn't been hit at the time he quit. I think I saw Imran on channel 5 when I was a non muslim but now I am a big fan.

Boxing is an excellent sport but there are not many boxers who would stand up to an equally matched Thai boxer.
The Thai boxer has a greater range of distance and weapons to use against a boxer.
