  • men what is the use of the capacitor? sorry but i relly wantto know and im not familiar in car sound system. i need answersmen. if i put a capacitor to my sound system, is it no need to put another batery for my sound system or it's good to put a batery rather than capacitor? need response men. need ideas. tnx men

  • if your lights go dim when you go "boom boom" then yes you need a cap if not the not. its basically cap is basically a battery that charges up and when the bass need the extra boost of power it uses it up and recharges again. at least that is teh general idea.

  • or, you could just get a whole nother battery with just a lil cap :P lol i got a 3500W amp, means 3.5k farad or higher, well i'm cheap

    fixed my friend's car,

got both his yellow top batteries, hooked it up to my car, got a 1k farad cap, no dimming and i've nbroken my rearview mirror off. twice:)

  • I hope you take that cap off it actually harms your system. All it does is draw extra juice then shoot it out super fast once you turn your system on. Look it up. EXOcontralto says the same thing so you wasted your money.

  • yellow top batter = don't gotta worry about it? so.... yeah. :P it's been alive and kicking for about a year, playing at least 6 days out of every week.

  • Aight, well don't mean to criticize your system jus tryin to give a pointer but whatever floats your boat man. Good luck.

  • totally wrong...

  • if you have a big system that makes your lights dim when u hit the bass notes. u def need one. You'd be doing ur electrical sytem a favour by doing so. because the capacitor will keep it all steady and running smoothy.. yea it drains. obv to be charged but wihtin seconds.. get a cap if u are running a big system with factory parts such as an alt. your drianing more power by not having one.. trust. find out for urself. helped me so much. did the big three with a cap. instead of 12 v i got 14.4v.

  • Prove it.

  • fine

ill have a b4 and after video for you then.

  • Ok.

  • No, you are wrong. Capacitors actually harm your system. A capacitor just shoots all that energy out in under a second when you need it so basically all it does is draw juice for no reason. Capictors are used for AC to DC bridged circuits. They help make the ripple effect more smooth. You obviously don't know what your talking about so please don't say things you don't know.

  • Wat kind o system ya got? I got 2 12" rockford fosgate subs, 1000watt mobile spec amp, and a 1 farad capacitor from walmart. 85 bucks for it and a wiring kit. boost bass significantly, and sounds better, get it, youll be pleased.

  • Caps have no use in battery to amp circuits. They are made for AC to DC bridged circuits and such.
