  • There's a version that's sung at a quicker tempo. This version has the lyrics that are more easily understand.

  • You can get the entire season 1 on DVD now in R2 and R4 formats. I own the R2/R4 DVD set. This set has the 18 hour shows cut up into 36 30-minute shows. But don't be sad. This is still the show you loved in the past and is worth a view. The Banana Splits is my all time favourite kids show ever. I love this show!

  • Beautifully dated.

  • i love that this is in the world haha

  • I have remembered how to pronounce the instrument since the song came out...but this is the first time I've heard it in years, and for the life of me it doesn't ring a bell. I had it on 45s that I got off of some serial deal for a while as well...

  • Right on baby Yeah!

  • they should bring back this classic brilliant :)

  • Absolute whacko genius ...

  • Listen closely - I believe it's actor Allan Melvin narrating! (Barney Hefner from All In The Family)

  • @coxjoseph Yes - it is Allan Melvin. He was the voice of Drooper as well.

  • I hope that thing doesn't give him mononucleosis.

  • Whoa, 2:16 - did Fleegle just try to Cobain himself?! Must be disappointed over the Ladybirds' flaccid rendition of the CalIiopesaxoviotrombarimbaclaribassootrumpaphone Song, which is fairly rocking in the album version.

  • Yeah - was never quite sure what was going on there. Can't really tell what it is in his hand. Not smart letting his hand get smacked with the hammer either. Strange...
