All of this is awesome but I'd like to know more hard info on whether I can practically install such a system. Is it available outside the US? What are the costs? How much space does it need? How large does a building need to be to justify installing it? Can I put it in my house? Who will repair it when it breaks?

That shows how ignorant you really are. You can argue the economics of it, but absorption chillers have been around for a long time and it's a well understood technology. They don't care where the heat comes from, they just need heat.
