  • Same song: youtube.com/watch?v=DbXm40-pZXg#

  • She took the gun out on instinct. She holsters it after the chopper's autopilot was overridden, wondering why she took it out.

  • goddamm it, not one video has the audio right, wtf is up with it, the dvd plays it better

  • Cool moment of GITS

  • i just love tashikoma's :D

  • epic

  • This song and "inner Univers" are my favorites.

By the way, sounds much better with the original voices

  • @ADAMSKA001 First, you didn't listened Torukia, Second you should know NOTHING can beat original voices, what you say is like a Japanese would say "Japanese version of Full Metal Jacket is better". French version is very welled dubbed too, but original stills the best

  • why is the pitch different?

  • Found a goof: The Water tower that gets hit with Saito's sniper round changes sides of the Jigabachi. When Saito lines up the shot (2:53) you can see the water tower on the LEFT side of the chopper, then when the bullet passes through the cockpit and hits the tower (2:57) it's on the right of the chopper, then switches back when it's leaking water from the bullet hole on the left of the chopper again (3:01 and on).

  • holy fuck the dubs are horrible. why do english dubs always end up sounding so cheezy? ):

  • What the hell are you talking about? This dub is awesome, one of the best out there.

  • im just saying i find this particular dub shitty. the original ghost in the shell movie dub is awesome though.

  • I'm just wondering, what's so bad about it? I mean sure the Tachikoma voices can get on my nerves sometimes but aside from that I don't see any problems. This dub is incredible compared to some of the others out there. Have you heard the Naruto dub? Now THAT one was fucking horrible, but compared to dubs like that the GITS dub is amazing.

  • asdfjkli is right there is better dub for this scene this one is quite horrible

  • I agree with you British, I like the GITS dub and the original japanese voices equally. I think GITS is a rare exception of where the dub is good, (that and Cowboy Bebop).

  • The English dub in GiTS are the only dub i would ever watch over jap/subs. tachikomas are FUCKING annoying in either, but i love the english dubs for GiTS

  • To explain why the ceiling didn't budge and the Major could hold down the helicopter:

The "Jigabachi" is a high performance military combat helicopter, not a heavy lift helo. As powerful as it seems, it's rate of climb is very limited. And because acceleration is related to force, even a small amount of downward force would keep it from accelerating upward. The Major would only have to exert a force of 2000 to 3000 lbs to hold down the 45000 lb helicopter. The wall was definately strong enough.

  • a better reply: it's a fucking cartoon! are you high? jesus christ

  • I like'd IRUKANJI's explaination better. That sounded intelligent.

  • just a statement about saito: this isnt 1 of his best shots, even from the manga, i, personally, think saitos' best shot was on solid state society, when he took out the cambodian merc. i can't remember his name, "poot- jung" or something, still, awesome vid, kudos, good quality. and nice audio format, what program did you use?

  • I still think Motoko would've flipped on her therm-optics and dodged the canon fire (like she did @ first GIG's Eraser)

  • LYRICS part 2 (part 1 is \/ below) FLIES THROUGH THE BORDERLINE BETWEEN THE REAL AND THE IMAGINARY, I dared to pick up the phone which no one had ever tried to pick up, memories have then grown thinner, and the air smells of rain and mystery. Prophecy is the fear in knowing things beforehand Above the sky and all material things, we cant help but stay here.

  • prophecy is the fear in knowing things beforehand, Above the sky and all material things, we cant help but stay here. A BIRD FLIES OVER THE BORDERLINE. Glancing over a thousand earths, gravity sets me free, tempts me in, and keeps me at a loss. With electrons arcing away, the world gets entangled like a grapevine, twisting a molecule's arm, so its fit to the shape of my chest, Throwing myself off the wharf, sliding over the borderline between the real and the imaginary, THE BIRD FLIES

  • This song keeps my energy up for the day. XD

  • Omg the voicec are really crap ! The doesnt fit to this anime ! The japanese and german syncr. voices are much better !

  • I actually like the voices. But hey. XD I havent watched the japanese or german one so I wouldn't know. XDD

  • really believe me ... the voices doesn't fit ... the original is the best .... !!!

  • I guess I'll have to watch the jp version. Hopefully when I start Uni I can get the DVDs. :3

  • This is my morning wake-up call.

  • Did the vehicle Major was riding scream? Did the AI scream? T.T?! Nuu! Poor AI.. /sob

  • i love how the tochkoma have children voices

  • I know, I love it too. To give something so lethal and cunning the voice of a child. I would feel bad about shooting at one, and then I'd get killed!

  • this is an amazing scene + song.

but whats she gonna do w/ that pistol hahah.

  • haha not a damn thing, but she can kick some asss

  • hey "i am a soldier, stand or die" that mentality never goes away for her i guess

she'd rather go out fightin over anything else ya kno?

  • well, she is a full body cyborg and has full installs of fire control software, maybe she was gonna snipe a sensitive part w/her pistol?(5mm high-velocity Armor Piercing) ...who knows, but The Major has gone up against tanks, an arm-suit, and in this case, an anti-tank helicopter...shes INVINCIBLE.

  • I don't think The Major would have been very invincible had that Jigabachi let loose its cannon. XP

The line tying The Major to the Jigabachi appears to be slacked, indicating the helicopter was hovering to some degree while she held it, except for the drag across the rooftop and the final tug of course. The line might just have been quite heavy however, making it appear to be slacked.

I just find it hard to imagine that tiny ledge or The Major's legs withstanding that amount of compression.

  • How many times do I have to say this?...SHES NOT HUMAN.....her legs lift hundreds if not thousands times more weight than a human and not to mention being made of steel she must weigh a TON (unlike regular cyborgs shes not made to emulate a human in weight or strength) shes a fully loaded killing machine designed from the ground up for COMBAT (@ 02:40 u can see the jigabachis pullin w all its got)

  • I'm well aware Motoko has a very high quality, military grade cyber-body, but still, every material has its limits, if not the body's legs, then the concrete block holding her back.

This is one of my favorite GITS:SAC 2nd Gig episodes. I only pointed out a small detail that was bugging me to see what other people might think as it had been addressed in an earlier post.

  • Sorry, I must sound like im yelling @ ya. Xb

  • No offense taken. I should have explained my earlier post better. XP

  • Hey, I just remembered, She Does EXACTLY THAT in Nuclear Power....

  • In the original movie Motoko pulled herself apart trying to remove a tank's hatch.

  • Lol, she shot at the tank's hatch with that pistol in GITS:SAC ep 2, and do anything against the armor, but I guess it's better than falling on her ass after letting go of the line and sitting there.

  • This is indeed the most awesome Ghost in the Shell scene ever!

  • Its an homage to "The Matrix" (Neo holding the helicopter so Trinity can get out) Production I.G. stated so themselves.

  • dude holy shit that was a good shot

i wish i could play halo3 like that

  • lol, I would jack my iPod into the aux line-in on my comp while I flew gunner's seat on the choppers in Battlefield 2/2142. Just epic!

  • Yeah it's the very first song in the 2nd OST...it's very good. I got it at Akon 2004 I think. I got both OST's from the series, I got the movies one and two...man am I glad to buy all of that merchandise. I love ghost in the shell, and you can tell I do because of my youtube name :)

In fact people call me that...it's my nickname for life. I plan on getting a tattoo on my back.

  • this song is true beauty

  • I really love the GITS serie 'n films but can somebody tell where this scene originates from. if you can plz tell me and here by I thank you for your effort

  • matrix

  • This scene is from the 2nd (Gig) season, Episode 4 "Natural Enemy."

  • Why does the music sound like it's been changed to a different key?

  • I think they do that in animes the modify the actual soundtrack alot

  • yea they do but i liek it alot how it sounds in the anime but either way the song is amazing

  • This show amazed the absolute hell out of me when I first saw it back in '04! Very few anime can stand up to it's depth in storytelling, animation, acting, and believability. Praises for Production I.G.

  • I love this song as well... But it was disappointing to see that it isn't exactly Yoko Kanno's work. The original song she used is Battersea by Hooverphonic. Give it a try too, it's a really good song, although a bit different. ^^

  • i kno that really pissed me off that she didnt use her own work but i love this as well battersea is really good but i love this too there both really good songs

  • Original or otherwise, it's a gorgeous song.

  • yes i so agree with u i sooo love this song

  • Every time I hear this song I Remember Motoko completely fearless & pissed off aiming her Seburo M-5 at the Jigabachi helicopter
