Why are we talking about other heavy metal bands here? Slayer is tops when it comes to speed and doing what they do. Other bands in the genre are around because of them, and most likely listened TO them. My only complaint (and this drove me nuts as a guitar player growing up) is how they can play BC Rich (free or not). Those things drive me nuts. Can't play past the 12th damn fret on them, LOL. But come on, great guitar riffs and the BEST drummer next to Peart.
