Okay so what does bootup time effect? I keep my laptop on sleep bootup aint that important like why are people making it such a big deal face it with the fact that its not important and just because apple boots faster or the OS boots faster does not make it better... Don't judge a book by its cover concept only here its don't judge a laptop by its boot up time...
@Roxen1462 As I said on the other video: The Sony x505 (2003) had the wedge-shape design first and was even thinner and lighter than the MacBookAir (2008).
watch?v=djxLKQQEf34. And also the MacBookPros design is stolen from the Mitsubishi HP Pedion (1997), which was thinner and lighter than the MacBookAir (2008) as well.
Thats also why I said Sony X505 clone (2003) clone vs Zenbook. I could have also written Sony x505 (2003) clone vs. another Sony x505 (2003) clone.
Actually, the MacBook Air was faster because the blue ball was still spinning on the Asus Zenbook. Windows was still logging into the WiFi and preparing the network for use. OSX does this while the screen is still white. MacBook Air was the winner in this one.
asus is nice, way better spec wise than the mac at least. Idk why people think macs are stronger or something, i've had my shitty dell desktop for 7 years and it still works lol.
@CanadianPatriot86 I know, my dad has kept what was a cheap dell desktop even when he bought it since 2003 and it still is working fine. It's usually Apple that creates every product with a planned obsolescence haha
I wish my ASUS UX31 would work. It began failing a few weeks after I started using it. At first it wouldn't start up, but after repeated attempts, it finally did. ASUS support was useless. I have to bring the unit into a service center, but may lose all my data as my PC technician couldn't get it to back up onto CrashPlan (something with the way the unit goes to sleep). I wish I had bought the MacAir. Asus UX31 is a pretty machine, but that's where it ends.
@gailrobinson247 If it started failing after a few weeks, it's faulty. And if it's faulty within the first year, you take straight back to the Retailer. They have to, buy law, give you a replacement of sort out a service. Would have been far easier. My Flat mate purchased an Air, and it went faulty the day she got it, she was given a new one at the apple store, and then the screen stopped working after 2 weeks. Then finally on her third one everything was fine.
i have both of them only the macbook isn't compaitable with my games but it performs beter with videographics and i play games with my zenbook but i don't see the difirence between them
@moviepreviews21 We really don't anymore. This is an antiquated comparison. The difference in start-up times are so insignificant today that most people won't notice it. And like you said, more people are just putting there computers to sleep for faster resume anyways.
Well, I guess Macs okay but why buy something that you can buy pretty much equivalent to a mac for a fraction of the cost?. But don't go overpaying for something like those Alienware computers because I hear they break down within a year despite the fact the it's supposed to be top since you pay like $2000 dollars for it.
@JLXZ83 You do get something that can get the job done, but you don't get the fit and finish of a Mac unless you pay the same price, and in that range a Mac would probably be best anyways, unless you have software constraints.
@ThePhotory Well of course you have your opinion and I have mine. I was just saying to get something extremely polished in the Windows world you would have to pay the same price as you would for a Mac. Just sayin' brother. I don't like to bicker needlessly. And I agree, Alienware is overpriced crap (It's a Dell, you would expect). I like AsusTEK because they make reliable, good PC's. I just hate the god-awful trackpad on the ZenBook.
@ThePhotory Haha so you like it when you have sheity fingerprint scanners and indicator lights all over the thing? Asus computers still looks like the ones from 1990's
@MickiSel Apple computers never change in design... They look awfull, the metal is conducting when charging ans you might get shocks from time to time. Lucky for them that it's only small shocks.
Asus's computer look for stylish then the Air even though they are quite similar
And what the hell do you base your facts on? just wondring, and a guess Apple fanboy aren't you late to the Apple church?
@ThePhotory i really dont know what you're talking about. They look awful? Almost every computer manufacturer is trying to copy their look. Im not an apple fanboy but claims like that are just wrong, it is a very good looking machine.
@kikeronaldo Comparing these two, I would say the Zenbook but then again it's not the special looking. I kind of like a split with reality and fantasy, if ever there would be a steampunk design I would be sold
@JLXZ83 You do get something that can get the job done, but you don't get the fit and finish of a Mac unless you pay the same price, and in that range a Mac would probably be best anyways, unless you have software constraints.
@anitatime of course, these laptops use different OS so you can't compare, OS X Lion is a lighter OS as is way too much optimized for Apple's hardware but if you try to run windows 7 on the air there is no comparison, most of the issues with the zenbook are because of two things: the very regular keyboard and the bad touchpad, the first one is not a big issue and the second actually is but i think it can be fixed with a update.
@anitatime plus, opening apps with a SSD is instantly so there is no way to compare the system speed by this way, the benchmarks are the only way to get a certain result and the UX31 is a little bit better than the Air search on google Macbook Air vs Ultrabooks and clic on the PCmag link, you'll se the results of performance
Is good to have great ultrabooks or ultra portable laptops for each OS, i don't think that the Air have been built with the intention to bring some Windows users to Apple i think that the Air have been built for those people who already use Mac OS as i think that the Zenbook was built with the Windows users in mind.
I don't like the mac vs windows war, i'm just a geek with an objective point of view but i like Asus and they're becoming a pain in the ass for Apple...
@quickfingers22 Who Cares. Apple steals too. Apple steals technical patents while others are inspired by Apple's design. Get over it. But yeah - many patents and design trademarks shouldn't have been issued in the first place. Back in time patents where to protect investments in ground breaking discoveries and/or ideas. Today ordinary ideas can be patended/trademarked to prevent competition totally against the original idea. Thumbs down to that.
but its not the same OS..
