Dude, much of american "aid" comes with strings attached...political strings. I can mention the African AIDS crises. See, a number of the countries in Africa voted NOT to exempt the USA from the World Court. People like Cheney and Rumsfeld made those stipulations and consequently those nations refused help and sought asst elsewhere like Canada. Canada WILL extradite Bush and Cheney if a warrant is dropped...Bush can't retaliate against us because we have OIL.

its true that i don't watch BBC because i don't have it. my primary source for news is news papers and Fox News. ever watch the O'Reilly Factor? its a good news program and that man tells the blunt truth about things. look, i don't support Bush or Cheney but this is a good country to live in. You can watch Oreilly commentary on fox news dot com if you wish. he's a straight talker with a big mouth. that's why people don't like him. actually all of the american news sites have copious clips on the internet. i've noticed that bbc has a definite left slant. and msnbc is certainly as left or further, if you wish to explore american media.

His latest gaff was when he claimed there were no homeless people in some town - he challenged the people to give him directions so that he could help them - but he was bluffing; he never helped....it was just sound bite.

I think I remember that. He was making a point about John Edwards' "two Americas" position. I don't think he denied they were there. He said if there were any he would help, and was basically criticizing Edwards for exploiting the vets to make his point about the economy. I have no way of knowing if he has or hasn't helped them. But he said if they want help help is out there. 37 billion spent on veteran healthcare, and there are 150,000 empty beds in homeless shelters.

I'm American and i live in Canada and is true, people tend to generalize a lot, but one thing I've noticed is that some stuff that canadians say is actually true... When you're in the US you don't noticed because the media is totally different from what they show here... but what ever I the US but sometimes you do have to see the bad as well...
