I am now 23 years old. i am a strong willed black and white man. And a tear has not dropped from my face since i was 12 years old. (Thats the last time i remember it happening) I just had a tear drop from my eye cause I realized that when i was 12, i had a cat just like oliver. I played piano and though he didn't turn the page, he would climb up and watch me practice piano and listen to me. I was 12 years old when he passed away. RIP Buddy(cat). I really do miss you.

This was a perfect counterbalance to the scene in the beginning in which he is abandoned and left alone in the rain. He now has what all is brothers and sisters got and what he was cheated from: a good home. The first scene was a tear jerker cause you feel pity for Oliver and anger at everyone who failed to adopt him or at least bring him indoors.
