yep, i bought the 2.4ghz version for like, 1600 euro, its a lot of cash but now i cant live without the enormous trackpad, ddr3 ram, and slick design.

I really need the illuminated keyboard, it sucks they force you to go 2.4ghz just to get it. I want the base model with a practical keyboard- nope apparently I can't do that.

Are you serious? Because fumbling around with the shortcut keys and function keys during a college lecture is a retarded waste of time. You can have fun using your dark keys in the pitch black, but I prefer to have the added functionality the backlit keyboard offers.

ive just bought the 2.0 since i dont really need the backlit keyboard and didnt think it was worth that much extra :-D

I almost have enough money for the 2.0 GHz one and I was just comparing it to other non mac laptops and i noticed that for under a thousand dollars i could get 3gb of ram and 500gb of hard drive with a quad processor, and i noticed this mac book only has 2 gb of ram and 160 gb of hard drive (i wuold buy a 500gb external hard drive), do you know why they charge so much when the stats are that low? Is it because of the Geforce 9400 graphics card or something?

well if you buy a mac you are buying a better computer all around. The specs aren't that bad once you are running OS X plus the computers are really great from personal experience, the graphics are pretty good but, you will get what you are paying for.

The black rim makes it easier on the eyes when looking at the screen unlike white or silver of the previous macbook and macbook pro

I agree with you, the fire wire has a huge use on mac with audio devices and simple stuff like Target Disk. but they ripped off! But definitively has a beautiful design compared with the previous macbook it's like old and beauty 12 inch PowerBook.
