I'm from Panama, but I do NOT belong to the low rider category. Most of these people are Chicanos and Mexicans and some other minority hispanics from the neighboring countries to Mexico. Most of this documentary relates to Mexican descendants because it is the biggest minority of the Hispanics. I do speak Spanish and speak with my mexican friends in Spanish, but this documentary does not represent me at all.

Well the U.S is not being over run by Hispanic/Latinos because many were here way before the English even founded a colony in 1607. Columbus landed on Hispaniola in 1492 & the Spanish were already in California by 1602. You got Florida, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona & Texas. The French founded Louisiana. After Mexico took it over people became Mexicans then when the US took it over they were U.S Citizens.

And you're right, New Mexico was claimed for the Spanish Crown in 1598, before the English colonies on the East Coast. New Mexico is very unique, we still speak the old Castilian Spanish during the 16th century. We are also very European in appearance. Blonde hair, light skin, coloured eyes, etc.
