I really like In Waves, yes I do, but if you ask me which one's my favourite song from Trivium, I just don't know what to say. I like Shogun and Kirisute Gomen, because these songs are so sophisticated. I still change my top-songs-from-trivum order a lot, I can't decide. But I will always keep songs like shogun and kirisute gomen in my top three. They're so far away from every metal song, they really wrote a masterpiece including all these japanese elements.

Actually, to be quite honest, they may not sound like Metallica in harmony, however you can tell they're influenced by bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Maybe even some dream Theatre. If you know what you're listening to, then honestly you should be able to hear it. Learning to playing a variety of bands may help with that.

They are playing to different kinds of guitar, to put it that way.

Corey allways have support from his pinkey and doesn't need to watch han his right hand, and allways keeps an eye on his left.

Matt is holding his right hand loose, and allways keeps an eye on his right hand, and his left hand is going crazy.

If you watch the other films you will see it, that it is allmost the same thing in every riff.

I know some of you won't agree, but this is how I see it.

It's all composed in Phryigian and Lydian, it feels odd to play some parts because they do a lot of sudden changes in key sig- and the fact they do some swing beats into a few spots, throws you waaaayyyy the fuck off if you have the right full proof tabs or sheet music for it.

(don't get me wrong i love listening to Slayer, Megadeth etc etc but Sodom are just something else)
