do i need to buy an unintegrated sound card for recording sound directly from the comp? right now im stuck with putting the microphone up to the speaker

i used gamecube and for the sound on pc use fraps

thanks, i do use fraps but it inpiuts sound through the microphone, not directly off the sound card
