  • Bien !!! Ole !!!

  • muchas gracias! :-D

  • Derek,

    Happy New Year.

Big jump forward and a lot of hard work gone into that.

    Keep it up.

    Ole!

  • Hi Jim! Happy New Year!

    Thanks very much!

    I will keep practicing!! :-D

    Ole!

  • Derek, I feel terrible about saying something negative but your rhythm is off. Your melodic lines are accurately executed and played with great authority and your tempo is steady, but you missed the triplet feel that is characteristic of tango and replaced it with a driving beat that reminds me more of rock than flamenco. Have a look at it again. Otherwise, keep up the great work. RT

  • dont feel bad saying something that can help me! thanks, i will look into it :-D

  • Very good !!

You might want to review your mobility, less movement on both hands equals much more force, safety and precision. When you practice, do it consciously every time, it'll bring a much effective and fast development.

    All the best, Mihai.

  • Dear Delboy i can see a lot of improvments in your Flamenco plyaing over the couple of monthes I would like to see new videos soon. God bless you keep the god work.

  • thanks dorita!

  • thanks very much! if only i had a flamenco guitar and not a classical then i wouldnt have to play in the bathroom trying to create that flamenco tone :-P

  • the toilet gives nice acoustic effects lol

  • that was the idea! but i still need a real flamenco guitar!

  • Well its the only book I'ver worked from, so i have to recommend it! i didnt know any flamenco and now i have over 200 subscribers and lots of encouraging email, so i would definitely say its worth it! im going to get those books too once im finished this one :-)

  • You've improved tremendously! Very fun to watch...and you're also quite inspiring! I've just started playing Flamenco recently and I have Juan Martin's Solo Flamenco Guitar book, but was wondering if you'd recommend El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra for starting out Flamenco...

  • just wanna say I keep following you so you better keep posting new skills;) its nice to hear your playing, especially as I was going through it all myself some years ago. will post some videos later. cheers! /martin

  • thanks martin! :-D

  • Nice one Derek.

  • thank you sal! :-D

  • i need to learn this form!

  • go for it amigo! i'll be posting what i learned soon :-)

  • Nice playing, you are really good at flamenco, no need for a proper flamenco guitar though, many famous flamenco player prefer to use a standard cedar classical but I suppose it's down to the tone you're looking for...;O)

  • cheers amigo! but i do want a proper flamenco guitar regardless!

  • good playing! very nice and a familiar tune too :)

  • thanks miguel!

  • It seems you have better acoustics sitting on the toilet. :)

I was at a concert yesterday, band was Nuestro Aire. Try a google on Keck Maria, see what happens. Gorgeous hungarian lady, with a great feel of flamenco.

  • thanks! i'll have a look just now! :-D

  • well done mate.... what make is ur guitar? is it a flamenco one?

    Atheer..

  • thanks atheer! its a manuel rodriguez c3, made in madrid.

there is a c3f, which is the flamenco model, so no, mine isnt a flamenco guitar, it is their 'studio' model... :-s

  • Hey man ,, it's so great and i wish i can play like that ,, but as an advice if u play with less tension in ur right hand and ur movement it will be spiritual and good

  • thanks, i know, i have been trying to relax it more!

  • Enhorabuena.

Es clásico y el compás está muy bien. Thanks!!

  • muchas gracias amigo :-)

  • wow derek what a shiny capo you have! I am sriously learnig this to but is difficult compas, with notes that are lasting a bit longer than i am used to, i mean the accent notes and the rageados are slower. I need the lesson i suppose! meta

  • it is a rubbish capo! the rubber bit falls off the metal part! anyway get stuck in and give it your best shot, you will learn this i'm sure, the compas isnt as difficult as others you have learned!

  • Ahhh, some bathroom flamenco... i like it :) !

  • thanks nigel! :-P

  • Very good Derek!

  • thanks very much!

  • Keep it up derek, but i think you should invest in a real cyprus wood flamenco guitar, it makes things much easier and you don't have to fight so much to get a flamenco sound... which is normal, because it's made for just that.

    terry

  • Hi Terry! Thanks for your comment! Yes, you are right, I need a proper flamenco guitar!!!

  • What up Man? good work

  • thanks amigo!
