Thank you Professor. I have a double CD of Roland Hayes' Favorite Spirituals. You are so passionate about Negro Spirituals. If you don't already have Hayes' CDs I would like to send you a copy, possibly to your college address? Let me know, Hayes is wonderful and I would like to share his music with someone appreciative of his talent. Gary
That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
4.158
Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-
Oh, my... It doesn't get any better than this! Thank you for posting!
God has blessed you with a magnificent voice. Folks like me, who got kicked out of the frog pond for trying to sing, truly appreciate when you use your gift to glorify our Lord.
I haven't heard this sung like this since my momma(solo) sang it when I was a child. You felt the Holy Spirit in the words and the music as she sang it and if you weren't moved, then you were dead.
You've made my day. I never knew where the song came from. Should have known from the South. My family lives in Mississippi and it is real South. Momma could raise the rafters.
I loved your video so much. You've touched my heart in ways I had forgotten about.
Actually, you are the one who made my day. We live in a world where people find it so easy to say mean hurtful things. It has grown to be a rare thing when someone says something nice.
You are obviously such a rare person. Tank you.
You know this song is about how we in our daily lives "crucify our Lord". The song is an admonition to ourselves to uplift the world. You have done so.
Thanks you for your inspiring comments. You are truly a blessing. My mothers names were George Frank. Ha Ha Ha Ha! Please let me know when you get to Ghana!
I referred to this particular song as "old" because I think it's origins might have been before 1750, as opposed to those that came in the early 1800's

You know what? God bless West Africa, too. Music is one of the very most effective, Spirit-filled ways to get the Gospel into someone's life.

Dr. Gordon,
(aka Paul Robeson of You Tube!)
Please forgive me for posting a channel comment. I meant to one here!
I'm looking forward to hearing this worship music in person when I arrive in Accra in April!
Surely we will not be the only expats there from I.U.?!
I'm ecstatic that a Ghanaian who commented n the channel assumed I'm Ghanaian! However, I happen to be an all-American gal (and a HOOSIER to boot)! :)
May God bless you and increase you!
