Not only a talented banjo player, but I LOVE you singing voice. Wow! Gotta love it! It takes alot of practice to get both things come out perfect. Keep practicing.
That was simply amazing! I clicked on the video unsure really what to expect, but was astounded by both your playing and voice! You are very talented.
what? there's lyrics? don't kill me over this fact but i never knew that! it sounds so tropical on a banjo, i think the song is better expressed in that tone. i like it :)
@kupamon banjo is not traditionally used in bossa nova. It is used in other Brazilian popular genres like choro. Though you might be thinking of cavaquinho, which is very similar to the ukulele.
Awesome, wonderful! You're a fantastic player, and even more so that you can take already cool instrument out of its traditional genre(s) and so well into something so different.
hey! love all your versions of tom jobim and others! i've already tryed banjo but i cant figur out the chords for bossa nova.. do we have to change the tunning? i play guitar.
very well played great job mercedezzz.nice vocals .i love the way you played that on a banjo how awesome...dont worry you didnt make youre bed the musicis all that counts...
Try to remember that there is a Brazilian banjo, and better than that, to play samba and other estilos.E when playing cavaquinho, please use the palette to find more flexible ...
I would love to hear your voice on top of a Gibson hollow body through some tubes with maybe a touch of reverb. Buttery smooth. I hope that you are sharing your musical gifts with the world through more than just utube.
I actually learned a lot of Portuguese just by listening to the music obsessively and then imitating what I heard. This song I recorded back when I first started singing in Portuguese. Now I listen to it and realize that some of my lyrics are completely off!
Sweet playing and love your voice. My beloved Tata (grandpa) played banjo in the 40's (he passed away a while back). Thanks for posting my video response.
Maravilhoso, excelente! Linda versão da Bossa Nova tocado em banjo e parabéns a sua bela voz, são momentos como este que a gente vê como o Tom Jobim permanece querido.
Bossa nova on the banjo...there's something you don't hear every day! Some people just know how to try things that no one would have thought of doing and make them work beautifully, and here is a great example. Oh, and did I mention that I adore your singing voice? Well, you have my subscription!
Nice, very nice. I thank you for all the complements and say the same to ya. Very beautiful version of Tom's "Wave", me and a dear person were watching to it and loved it.
... is that frailing or somethin? ye hit them string pretty close to the neck... i never seen somebody play the banjo like that, i only play scruggs style.
but i'm also tryin to git in that whole frailing stuff, just for the heck of it.
Congratulations! As a brazilian Bossa Nova musician I can tell you that your way of singing and playing (and even your pronunciation) is really amazingly good for a non-brazilian.
I'm glad you have this crash on bossa! It would be great to try to do an arrangement where you can put your voice and banjo on top. Would you consider it? How about Filho do alfaiate do Noel Rosa?
You're gorgeous as well as the song. Just want to inform you that WAVE(VOU TE CONTAR), is my favourite song in other word my NEVER DIE song in my life, and you work it so well, i love it. So Congratulations !!

an instrument with less treble frqns like
a jazz guitar or a violao. In this clip first comes the banjo sound and your voice is in the back... You are a fine musician .
