They were such great builders! With stone-age technology, no use of the wheel, AND no beasts of burden, they managed to build one of the greatest cities the world has ever known! Amazing!
It's funny to read how some people fake to be "terrorized" by the aztecs sacrifices.
The aztecs sacrificed humans in order to preserv their world order and to keep having the benefits of their gods for their society, obviously today we struggle to understand that.
But at least they weren't hipocryte saying those sicrifices were justified by a "MERCIFULL" god as the "HOLY INQUISITION" of the european middle ages did.
Or at least they didn't have fun watching people die as the romans did.
@LEGIONARIO1970 yeah.. very true.. but in the end that doesnt make it right, imagine laying on that slap of stone, afcourse im looking at it from todays ethical glasses.. but still.. damn.. how can you not be terrorized by something as dumb as killing humans because you believe the sun will stop rising, thats just superstition taking a creepy form, again, looking at it trough todays ethical glasses :)
@larzinator1988 It can't be dumb if that was their faith, it is like saying that all budist, muslims, judish, etc., are dumb, just because I'm catholic and I don't share their faith. Obviously it sucked if you were the one to be laying on a slap stone, wasn't it?
On the other hand It doesn't make it right to me eighther to be nailed in a cross and dying slowly for hours or being eaten by a lion while a crowd is cheering up, or being torture and taken apart slowly (bone by bone) in one those...
@larzinator1988 ........european middle age brutal killing machines, specially If I was sentenced to death because I wrote, read or said in public that the earth is rounded and it's not the center of the universe (things known by the aztecs, mayas and other ancient cultures long, long before the european middle age) or just beacause I practiced a science (like chemestry). Man, that was really DUMB, ignorant and intolerant.

Both MEXICAN, but different tribes the blood is still within the Mexican people but diluted with Spanish blood.
