This video is so misleading, people in China knew about this event, and many talk about this event among themselves. It was Deng's wrong doing which makes many Chinese love Mao's era more. The corrupted government and people these days in China was caused by Deng's doing too. What truly helps a country is not by protest, but to raise the next generation to be more caring and critical with problems. Yelling and blocking the street won't do shit.
@Gin520 but dude, ppl in the past had done their best to stop the government...it's just....they dun fuckin know what's gonna happen, like this?!i bet no.....
@motherfucful i'm not sure if u understand what this video is about, it's basically saying that this incident shouldn't be silenced. what the Deng's government did was wrong, but what the student did was wrong as well... thousands of people, mostly students block roads disturbing society is a type of corruption itself. turning violent is breaking the law. but this is all history, what we should do now is learn and improve.....NOT look back and tell ppl to go against government.
@motherfucful yea....we all have our own values, and do things differently...that is why we shouldn't get influence by videos like this or accept whatever others (including media) said. For every truth, there's another truth behind it. In HK and in western countries, ppl are taught to hate communist, and are taught to fight for freedom. so a lot of fake story, or misleading info, or missing infor are given to us. Thus, we should always look the other side of every story we heard, and look deeper
@Gin520 man,u so rite......it's an honor talking with you,i think we have the same view towards this event......and yes!there's always every truth behind one thing....and it's not things you and me can understand anymore.....especially me....i'm one of the 90's...so there are still many things to learn...haha
@motherfucful hahah, icic...i'm from the 80s, and when this happened, i was a baby, and my mom brought me back to mainland at that time. one of my University professor was one of the protesters during the 64 event...he now regret to join this event, because he was still young and naive at that time, and hot blooded, so easily got influenced to go against government; this is what he said. it's good to see there are young ppl like u and me who won't fall for these kind of lies.
@Gin520 yea...ppl were insane at that time, all of the freedom things and democracy tumbling over their minds huh?also.....very active, but after all,the students really wanna help their country....unfortunately,wrong ways of expression......there's always another way through a case,rite?haha..
@Gin520 Do you really believe your own words? The students protested peacefully and the government set in tanks and open fired with automatic rifles , you do not need any more clear picture of the event. Taught to hate communist? I believe the communist teach that lesson themselves when they persecute, torture and murderer their own people. CCP came to power by bloodshed and they have remained in power by the same means. China deserves better and that better will come.
@BiReal lol, do you believe what you said correct? yea, the student "was" peacefully protesting against the government in the beginning, not until later when everything breaks down. If you didn't know, there were people leading this students to protest, and the were the ones who led some of them into turning violent. I'm sure I know more than you do, my parents were in China at that time, watching exactly what had happened on live news.
@BiReal A professor of mine was a student at that time, he also participated in this event, except he wasn't at the Tiananmen, he was at the north side from Tiananmen. Even he regretted to have participated, because he was young, and only felt like he could get away from school and join some actions. Many regretted in fact. Yes, what the army did was not good, but if you are smart enough, back then almost no country own a police force that's strong enough to control a large group of protesters.
@BiReal Only an army can do so. Shooting at the students and other street people is not correct, i agree to that. And blame all these to Deng Xiaoping, it was all his fucking bad decisions, even till nowadays, all those serious corruptions began from Deng Xiaoping. That is why people in China, treat Mao as hero, because Mao's era was much better, everyone got a job, people trust and support each other. And that was the beginning of the Communist era in China. Communism itself is just a theory.
@BiReal It is neither good nor bad. But it is consider an utopian idea, an idea/theory that is hard to achieve in reality. That is because we human are fucking selfish. And that is why all those Democracy and Liberal, socialist succeed while communism can't
@Gin520 Speaking up against a corrupt regime, a regime who do not let their people share the same basic human rights as the rest of the world, is not turning violent, blocking a street is not turning violent either. However silencing a people urging for their rights with tanks and armed soldiers "is" turning violent. With your view anyone who goes out on the street to express disapproval of a government, is committing a corrupt action and actually that is the view of the communist party as well.
@BiReal explain human rights, do u seriously think you have human rights right now? the so called human rights is just a bullshit to make you people feel better, feel like you guys are owning your life. And you think people are seriously silent in China? NO! people still discuss about this event in China, just not in front of any officials or police. And this freedom of speech you like so much, look at US, many speak without critically think about problems.
@Gin520 Well for example in Communist China we would not even be able to have this conversation, because the government control every media outlet and every information source, you yourself claim that the chinese people do have these conversation but not in front of "police or politics". I think you are defining the lack of freedom in China with your own words. Also we are not talking about the U.S we are talking about China.
@BiReal lol, why can't I talk about US? US is great example of failer in freedom of speech. And seriously, people don't always need technology to talk freely among themselves. People can interact face to face.
@BiReal And i think it's best not to allow ppl to post or freely talk about the bad things from the past, that is because ppl who usually don't understand or don't fully know the whole picture of the event will talk badly of the government blaming everything at them. And human tend to follow what fits their feeling and emotions, while uncritically research and think about it first. Why would anyone want others to only look and think about the bad side, but not look at think about the goods too?
@Gin520 If people do not know about their history, how will they learn from it. And I am sure you understand the potential in corruption if a government are allowed to cover up all their deeds and change history according to their own perspective. China today has one of the largest class diversity, it is one of the most capitalist countries in the world with a communist hierarchy. You talk so naive about the power structure as it would not consist of corruption, but China is also corrupt.
@BiReal yes, people do need to know about their history, but not to learn it from those who goes against China or the government. Why would you want anyone with bias to teach these people about their history? And I never said China is not corrupted, it is as corrupted as US and any other countries around the world. Any place is corrupted. But if the people themselves behave better first, then at least it won't be too corrupted like now.
@Gin520 I believe that the communist party is the one setting the bad example of behavior towards their citizens, after all they control their country with Iron hand, what their people know in terms of information, education, books etc which many times transfer moral and ethnics teachings, has all been in the hands of the communist party for 60 years , is it not them who have planted the seeds of the bad harvest.
@BiReal I kind of agree what you said about how the Chinese communist party set a bad example. But again, all this started when Deng Xiaoping became the leader of China. Anyway, I will end this discussion with you right here, no point to continue this. Since there are differences between our experiences, what we learned and understand. But let's hope China and any other country will become better, and the people to be able to live under a healthier government.
Yes China is opening up but strangling inside, quite the opposite when it comes to human rights China it has gotten worst this past years, not better and dozens of political opposition, religious followers, lawyers and even artists have recently been arrested and remained so.
@BiReal of cause they get lock up, why wouldn't they? People who try to create problems, and lead people to go against the government will get lock up. I personally agree this is a good thing. I would rather have this trouble makers lock up. If they truly care about their country, then they should teach their people how to behave better first, not teaching them how to go against the government, and do nothing for the society.
@BiReal What rights? rights to talk badly about the government whenever the government set up new laws that don't benefit the individuals? they can demand their rights, but it cannot be rushed. Things has to be done slowly. I'm not saying i like what China is doing, i hate it too, but look at it in a reasonable way, you can't force a system to change in a really fast pace. if that happens, it is not the government that will get corruption, it is the people/society that will corrupt the most.
@BiReal anyway, i do think people in China should have more rights in all sorts of stuff, but i don't agree to give them so much rights at this moment, and in such a hurry. If you ever been to China, to different places, you will notice that people there aren't ready for it. That is because they still lack self-control, critical thinking, only think for themselves and not others or the society as a whole. This is due to the lack of education, and moral/ethics. All thanks to Deng Xiaoping.
@BiReal Deng Xiaoping did do some good stuff, opening up China to the world. But he opened it up way too fast, too much information and knowledge going into China. People there can't understand the new things fast enough, they only look at what benefits them, and ignore the reasons. Not only is there many government officials corrupted, many people are corrupted too. And to make China better, we need to change these people first, laws and rights comes 2nd. But of cause, both are important.
@BiReal freedom of speech is good, but overly allow people to speak whatever they want is not good. They don't know what the fuck they are talking about, and most are just selfishly talking for their own desire only.
@BiReal Yes, China is overly restricting the freedom of speech, but if you haven't notice, China is slowly opening it, allowing people to speak more freely. Just not in a rush, we need people to understand things first. People like you who just look back all the time won't understand & not forward won't understand.
@motherfucful we should also help improve and educate our next generations....not by protesting, blocking roads or disturbing society...or by creating/posting videos like this to create more problems or misleading others.
we should educate next generations to be more caring, teach them ethics and morals...so they won't get corrupted easily. And to not get influence by selfish, power seeking, and narrow minded people, such as politicians...
可惜到现在大部分人都已经忘记了这段历史了。。。
