I also find it quite strange how they always talk about the "elite media", as if it were something unfair, a conspiracy or dangerous. At the end, the audience actually decides what and who they watch. Overall and ultimately it will be the more convincing and probably also the more balanced content that attracts the most people. Hence, those stations will be more successful, others will have to face diminishing viewer basis. I think in an open and free media environment market forces work well

Leaving aside that I don't agree with the statements about Palin's qualities, she is clearly not the kind of person that wins new or undecided voters the Republican ticket would need. Yes, she probably is very attractive to the Rep party base, but not to people who also consider voting for Obama. Therefore I believe it's quite a critical flaw to describe her as a threat for Dems and a good choice for the Reps. I believe that she ultimately badly damaged the Rep campaign and clearly helped Obama.
