Seriously people help me I see you could do it, I dont have a clue whats wrong with my system. Could that be win7 presently running on the machine? I have a well-working bootloader so that shouldnt be a problem. What shall I do?
I own an xps m1330( 2.2 ghz c2d; intel wifi; 3g ram; 250gb hdd) and want a dual boot with win7. I tried iAtkos v7; iAtkos 5i; iPC 10.5.6, Deneb . Non of them worked. Some of them wont run through the installation, or manages to finish it but freezes during the first boot. It never got to the OSX welcome page. I tried to turn AHCI to SATA mode, tried all the kernels(vanilla too).
hi there i hv a xps 1530 as well and wanna hav it done just as u did, the link for me to follow the instruction is it the ont at the end of the video?? if it is i only found the forum to have some guides, but nothing spcific for 1530, but is it there? also would i be able to enable also the fingerprint logon to my leopard 10.5 just as u did? thank you very much in advance,
Hello, first than all let me say congratulations to you for that grate job, that you have done with your M1530. I would like to do the same with mine, but I don't know how to it. So, if you could please answer me those questions:
thanks, kotorivn! I think that my problem suceed because I did the 3 partitions first in ubuntu and leave the last one in fat32 and I don't loggued as an administrator to execute de command dell 2 3,in some days I would try to do it as you said to me, because now i am finishing some works, and I can´t lose time and I will tell you if I can resolve my problem, Thanks for your time, I send you a huge from the bottom of America.
Hi, I have a dell vostro 1500 with the same boot (md for osx, pb for xp) but when i start with te md button, appears "ntdlr is missing, press a key to restart", when i press any key the leopard start, but i see that you don`t have this problem. But if I boot first with Xp and then with osx the alert don't appear, only appears when i start at the first time with the md button, Did you have that problem? (excuse me, if you don't understand something, because I am from Argentina), Greetings!
have you edited OSX partition after hacking the MD button? You need to use a partition editor to do that, only change a number (74 to 75) and you're good to go. Take a look at my video description all necessary sources is there.
HI kotorivn,I'm happy because you understand me :D, yes I've edited the partition with the acronis disk editor, like said in the post of lenka penka, But this appear when I start for first time macosx, I don't know why it is, but I think that may be bacause I have the md 3.3 or but I have 3 partitions, ntfs for win, hfs+ for osx, fat32 for shared docs. When the message appear, I have a new parttion named media direct with the letter (G:), but i haven't if the message doesn't appears too. Thanks!
can you help me with this i went ahead and download the torrent but when i burn it to a dvd it only burns 768kb it does'nt burn the whole 4.3gb if anyone can help me i would greatly appricate it thank you
dont worry about that, the same thing happend to me, but it still installed on my pc. if you get an error
/System/Preferences/com.apple.Boot.plist not found
or something like that, then set a boot password. and at the bootloader, press F8, then type -v and hit enter, this boots the disc in verbose, so if it freezes you can see what goes wrong.
Sleep does not work on any Hackintosh because the Vanilla Kernel hangs when you put it to sleep. I dont know about shut down though, mine shuts down with no problem.
Mac is out of the picture in that case, most games are compiled for Windows (but Mac has the Best speed). Do not use Windows Vista, it has some big ass kernel, and everything gets slow. use windows 7 instead. if you think you want linux, the use WINE to run windows apps.
This is excellent to see. I just ordered a M1530 this afternoon and hoped that OS X would run on it flawlessly. Whilst not quite flawlessly, I have hope to get it running to a degree in which I'm happy :)
I especially like the MediaDirect button hack. What is the alternative way of choosing which OS to boot? A boot menu or an actual keypress like on the Macbooks?
ya, the original hard drive did make that weird sound, but I replaced it with a new 250GB toshiba. Don't worry about that noise, it's not gonna harm your hard drive. Now, I use that hard drive as an external hd and it makes that noise every time I unplug it :(
This is very cool. I have to ask one question. I have heard that the internet doesnt work when u start MAC OS X. Does this mean that ur internet doesn work for vista and MAC?
how did you get leopard to boot up so fast? it takes about 1:30 for me to get from Darwin to the desktop, and I am using BrazilMac patched retail DVD and PC EFI v8. Nice video.
thats what i been trying to get. I have an m1330 and i want to do the same thing you did. I been doing some reading on several forums and have try to download several versions like [ToH] and iATKOS. Which version did you use? i need help please desperately pm me thanks
when I did this video, Leo4allV3 was the best hackintosh version for XPS M1530. There's a new version of iAtkos v4i 10.5.4 on Demonoid, I haven't tried it yet, cause I'm happy with my setup leo4allv3 10.5.2 + Jas combo upgrade 10.5.3 + 10.5.4 update straight from apple :)
you can dual boot Vista/Leopard on your HP laptop, but you can't hack to boot Leopard by MediaDirect button cause there's no MD button on HP laptop. Hacking MD button is for Dell laptop only!
hi i have just 1 question (sorry) does the MD work in windows vista??? or is it alle the time disabeld??? when yes what does the computer when you push the md button in vista?
then you might need to buy a Dell Truemobile 1390 card on ebay for $15 shipped to replace the intel card, or get a Dell Wireless 1505 Draft n 802.11n WLAN Mini Card for $50 shipped
these 2 cards can work w/o driver on leopard as an Airport,

install Vista first, then OSx,after OS x is installed, use Vista installation CD to repair, then it will reboot and boot to vista as normal. Now, you have to set OSx partition as active!
on Vista press Windows + R
Follow these next set of commands:
DISKPART> list disk
Will show you a list of selectable disks
DISKPART> select disk n

DISKPART> list partition
This will show you the partitions on your selected disk
if you do this hack then MediaDirect would be gone! if you just want to get rid of the MD, you could remove all partition in the windows installation process! or you could use Partition Magic to remove MD partition without reinstall windows!
@kotorivn can uou send me a message saying how to choose power buttens, because i really want to do that.

What did you download for ethernet to work? Or does it work at all for you?
thewiseyoda 3 years ago
I used leo4allv3, ethernet doesn't work, wifi works out of the box as an Airport.
the question is what wireless adapter do you have? mine is Dell 1550 wireless N draft,
you should check out 3 links I've included on my video info, you might find some driver you need there!

I have intel 4965agn wifi adapter i believe.
I have looked at the forums. The experimental drivers dont really work

these 2 cards can work w/o driver on leopard as an Airport,

PlayaWithHeart 3 years ago
install Vista first, then OSx,after OS x is installed, use Vista installation CD to repair, then it will reboot and boot to vista as normal. Now, you have to set OSx partition as active!
on Vista press Windows + R
Follow these next set of commands:
DISKPART> list disk
Will show you a list of selectable disks
DISKPART> select disk n
[where n = the disk number]
DISKPART> list partition
This will show you the partitions on your selected disk
kotorivn 3 years ago
DISKPART> select partition n
[where n = OSX partition]
This will specify the partition
DISKPART> active
Will make your OS X partition the first-boot active partition
DISKPART> Exit
Leaves DiskPart...
DONE, restart then it will boot by OS X, use F8 to choose Vista or OSX or it will boot into OSx automatically.
Now, it's time to do the MediaDirect button hack.
hope it helps!
kotorivn 3 years ago
Soo is media direct is gone yeah? Cause it's a waste of space to me and I really don't need another partition.
zak7khan 3 years ago
I meant media direct is a waste of space, not the leopard install :)
