"Five Gallons of Batteries" - typical illogical FAA rationalization. something tells me that a FSDO made up that spec on the spot (?). I know my Challenger costs two dollars more in fuel than it cost me to rent an entire Cherokee 140 - wet - for an hour from State Aviation in Auburn, Maine, back in 1970. If flying is to remain possible for the average bloke, "electricity" seems to be the best achievable answer.
