the synth from the begining is a simple x/y oscilator , like the "atari punk console" or "atari noise box" as the geeks called it ;) you can get one by makin one by yrself (its one of the most simple synth to make in this world ;) or buy one from MonotonicLab for example :) i really love this intro because theres no lots of (known) artist who used to play with this synth............its fuckin cool that an awesome band like depeche mode used it, i really like this track :)

I have no idea what this song has to do with Amy Lee, but anyhow this song reminds me of Julian Assange. Might be because he is an open secret (like almost anything from Depeche Mode is also, in a very addictive way) and yet I think, very attractive which is I think mostly depending on his mysteriousness, intelligence, cunningness and his idealism which will surely also be the reason why this guy won't live long anymore.
