Good point John. I was thinking of this more as the chords to se while comping rather than he rhytms of comping. Will consider that next time. Thanks.
I was just thinking about that too, and I thought this: If someone came to you and said "We have a really hot singer, and we need you to play a jazz blues in 15 minutes or I will kill you," this is what you'd learn and play :) After you got through it, you could go back and learn how to spice it up, because now the hot singer likes you and wants to play together again :)
