Everything has been revamped and given much smoother transitions and a certain 'realism' that doesn't equate to massive mass drivers firing asteroids at Terra Nova... check it out on their website to see what they've been doing.

@rdrc uh, well for one thing, they wouldn't have flat sides everywhere, that's a terrible armor design, we learned better than that in like, early WW2 Armor should have wedged angles facing where it could get hit from to increase chance for deflection and increase armor thickness from that angle. And something I already pointed out, that cammo is ridiculous, it looks like they just made it with a photoshop effect. Even the environments are bad, look how low the texture resolutions are.
The Fm Mech's look really silly. If the millitary evolution would turn towards mech warfare, it would most likely turn towards the style of Mechwarrior. Giant weapon platforms. Not giant robot suits.

@xristo702 They usually are. This one dropped the ball majorly in that no one who usually writes for FM did the story. The story was "outsourced" to the failure of a writer who did the shitty FFXIII. Mix that with Double Helix's dubious gameplay execution, and you get Front Mission "D" evolved.
This writer you speak of must be a fan of Michael Bay....adding a needless "human" element to draw attention from giant awesome robots sounds pretty familiar.
Man the first FM had such a cool cast, plot, and selection of wanzers....the only thing I see making a comeback is the Stork wanzer, the Dark Hog machinegun, and the Seiger rifle.
Which is kinda cool, but still pretty meh. You better dig up a lot more cool shit than that if I'm gonna give a fuck about this game haha.

This is a typical $19.99 phony game that most people don't give a fk about. And it took me $55 dollers after tax, Which is alsmot the same price as Modern Warfare 2. Multiplayer game engine is WEAK, the odds of me succuesfully joining a server and actually play in it is 10%. Its playable if you are a front mission fan and want to expierience directly controlling a wanzer, however it does have some major flaws like major story gaps after the first few missions and the action does get repetitive after about 5 missions as well. Tho the most annoying part in the entire game were the boss fights, so far i have been through like 6 boss fights and every time the fuckers just mock me and get away as soon as i drop their health to 0, that shit does get old fast...
Dled the pirated version yesterday and finished the same day. It was fun for the first few missions, then it get's repetitive and boring as hell. Grab a shield, melee weapon and a fast mech and you're god-like, since you don't even have to face an enemy for it to hit while skating. Then there's the story, which most of it is pretty stupid and over done in other games and anime. Can't say anything about the multiplayer, obviously.
Damn why did they change the turn-based strategy gameplay. Now it looks like AC. Dont get me wrong, I love AC, huge fan currently playing AC for answer, but FM was a different beast and thats what I liked about it.

@WhiteWingextremist Nothing wrong with armored core. people seem to get the mind set that "all mech games are the same." but it just isn't so. Armores Core hase become bastardized on the xbox360 but even at its best on ps2 it was always geared to a more fast paced action style. In short, I like AC and FM but for different and almost opposite reasons or rather qualities of there styles.
sadly no huge gameplay improvements i seen the similar gameplays from ArmoedCore and some 2007 MMO robot online ..but still i`m getting this game i love Front Mission series especially Front Mission 3!
Front Mission actually isn't supposed to be strategy, its a series that likes to mix up genres. Search up Front mission: online, gun hazard, and alternative.
@TwinSkies problem is there's no variety these days. way too many shooter games out there. we already have armored core if we want a mech shooter game. there's hardly any survival horror or rpg or racing games out there. fighting games are making a comeback though.
The more recent AC games were too "streamlined" for my taste. I miss the grit, and the task of having to watch half a dozen stats (energy, ammo count, altitude, heat, etc.) at once. It kept it interesting.

More like Front Mission Devolved, FM has always had had a very real political well thought out story, one of the few games that does, but this stuff here is some proper B-movie type thing, pretty sad to see the series end up like this, worst thing is this will probably sell more than the old FM, I guess just blowing stuff up for no reason is good enough for some people.
@sevenforcex Motomu Toriyama (not Team FM/PDD6's writers) is handling the storytelling, which is why FME looks very mecha anime-cliched. A complete disappointment considering the whole FM storyline (video game and manga series) is a real work of art in realistic, thought-provoking, serial drama-style storytelling. Oh well, at least it's a reboot with no real link to the old, completed storyline so it doesn't matter.
Well we will see how this game turns out seeing how I was not crazy about FM4 that much but FM 3 for PSX ( that's PlayStation 1 for all the young gamers who might not know what I'm talking about )was a great game if they can bring back the flair that FM 3 had then it should be good if not then it's just another crap game coming out to try to make money off the Die Hard Fans of the old game's and I hope not cause this game has loads of potential and could be a great story an a thrill to play.
@MrAgyoga Just because FM Evolved doesn’t happen to be a strategy game it doesn’t mean that the FM SRPG is completely over, Shinji Hashimoto one of the original creators of Front Mission said that in interview about FME.

Welp, if ya look around, in comparison to WWII games, feels like there was a shortage of good mech games. So I really don't think it's played out. Futuristic too much? Same could be said about GTA clones, WWII games, and even shooters in general.
I have to admit, I'm a little worried about this one, but I'm not ganna send it up the river just yet. Wish they'd do a collector's edition with the old Gun Hazard game included. Some people like sci fi and mechs. Lost Planet 2 is fun for now though.
It would be cool if they took meachassault controls and put it in front mission games.

The game is good, the multiplayer makes a lot of fun.
But if these Problems wont be fixed, than think about:
1.no serverbrowser (waiting for start till 10 minutes+)
2.BAD KI who tries to make teams even (to often are 2 veterans playing vs 2 noobs) organiced in the lobby!
3.u cant change your wanzer or configure it while multiplayer game is running
4. if it a 3vs2 match and someone is leaving (3vs1) the KI dont fix it and the last 2nd leaves too. 10 minutes+ waitng for nothing rofl

Sooooo... what happened to Turn Based Strategy side of Front Mission?

I was surpraised why there was used game on the second day... now i know...after reach Chorus of destruction...the game suck ass...how can u face two enemies that move faster than you... and you are olbigated to use four legs... the worst ever... i played for 1 hour ... and there's no way to defeat them... square just made the best series come to a shit....

this game...is gonna be epic...the online multiplayer....will be sick, prepared to have hella fun
played front mission 4 and 5 and its fun, but this is way more better controlling 1 unit and do whatever it takes to kill the rest...can't wait...=]

Reminds me a lot of the Gundam series, a massive war, an orbitoral elevator, mechs, romance, some super mech power?

I was a chromehounds fan until the suites at Sega pulled the plug. FME looks like it could be good. I hope it does not play like armored core because armored core SUCKS. Are the developers making games they like or games the consumer likes?
they really try and shove armored core down your throat while ignoring the vast potential chromehounds had. Oh well.

@WhiteWingextremist Nothing wrong with armored core. people seem to get the mind set that "all mech games are the same." but it just isn't so. Armores Core hase become bastardized on the xbox360 but even at its best on ps2 it was always geared to a more fast paced action style. In short, I like AC and FM but for different and almost opposite reasons or rather qualities of there styles.

sadly no huge gameplay improvements i seen the similar gameplays from ArmoedCore and some 2007 MMO robot online ..but still i`m getting this game i love Front Mission series especially Front Mission 3!

Front Mission actually isn't supposed to be strategy, its a series that likes to mix up genres. Search up Front mission: online, gun hazard, and alternative.

Personally, I'm happy about the move to a 3rd person shooter. I felt that a strategy game about mechs blowing each other up missed the point.
I don't want to be the guy commanding them - I want to be IN the mech itself.

@TwinSkies problem is there's no variety these days. way too many shooter games out there. we already have armored core if we want a mech shooter game. there's hardly any survival horror or rpg or racing games out there. fighting games are making a comeback though.

The more recent AC games were too "streamlined" for my taste. I miss the grit, and the task of having to watch half a dozen stats (energy, ammo count, altitude, heat, etc.) at once. It kept it interesting.

Actually, space elevators are pretty standard fare for sci-fi, as are space colonies and time dilation theories.
If you're going to accuse Front Mission of ripping off Gundam 00, you may as well sue the creators of Gunbuster for ripping off The Forever War.

You know as I make comments here in replies, and this might sound abstract, but I kinda think the voice acting and facial expressions work though possably not cutting edge, are actualy really good and portrays decent emotion. @.@

More like Front Mission Devolved, FM has always had had a very real political well thought out story, one of the few games that does, but this stuff here is some proper B-movie type thing, pretty sad to see the series end up like this, worst thing is this will probably sell more than the old FM, I guess just blowing stuff up for no reason is good enough for some people.

@sevenforcex Motomu Toriyama (not Team FM/PDD6's writers) is handling the storytelling, which is why FME looks very mecha anime-cliched. A complete disappointment considering the whole FM storyline (video game and manga series) is a real work of art in realistic, thought-provoking, serial drama-style storytelling. Oh well, at least it's a reboot with no real link to the old, completed storyline so it doesn't matter.

Well we will see how this game turns out seeing how I was not crazy about FM4 that much but FM 3 for PSX ( that's PlayStation 1 for all the young gamers who might not know what I'm talking about )was a great game if they can bring back the flair that FM 3 had then it should be good if not then it's just another crap game coming out to try to make money off the Die Hard Fans of the old game's and I hope not cause this game has loads of potential and could be a great story an a thrill to play.

Elements, features, gameplay, interaction, Graphics, Decent Storyline/ setting/ characters. Anything that we havent seen in other games?

@MrAgyoga Just because FM Evolved doesn’t happen to be a strategy game it doesn’t mean that the FM SRPG is completely over, Shinji Hashimoto one of the original creators of Front Mission said that in interview about FME.
Anyway it is not the first time when FM game is not a turn based strategy, check out; FM Gun Hazard, FM Alternative and FM Online.
It is really sad that most of FM games were never released outside Japan but now something is happening and I am very happy that FM still lives.

Ok so I noticed some people saying that they go to war for no reason and yes this is stated in the beginning of the video but that is a terrorist group wanting to go to war for no reason. As a player you will probably be either a soldier in the military or a military brat fighting to protect the world.

@PlayboiX122 No there is reason... The story of FME is in 2171, 50 years after PS2 Front Mission 5. the humanity are starting went to space and built orbital evators (you seen it on trailer). Then some unknow forces attack one of USN orbital elvator and USN are think that the OCU attacked. So the new coflict is build. Read or good watch trailer before post! ;x

Yes beacuse FME is a mecha game if some people not know like Mr. Drone864 that "thinks" there was one game and it was "Transformers". wikipedia . org/wiki/Mecha Second, some players that are not familar with old games like these from nes etc. just loking what will this game have mega super giga big explosions and graphic but rather focus about story, yes this one in FME is pretty good. After all it's one of SE game series.

Welp, if ya look around, in comparison to WWII games, feels like there was a shortage of good mech games. So I really don't think it's played out. Futuristic too much? Same could be said about GTA clones, WWII games, and even shooters in general.
I have to admit, I'm a little worried about this one, but I'm not ganna send it up the river just yet. Wish they'd do a collector's edition with the old Gun Hazard game included. Some people like sci fi and mechs. Lost Planet 2 is fun for now though.
