@IllyriPower F-16 is too cheap for Albania. It is better if there is long distance between the MiG-29 and it. But in close fight it has no chances. Bulgaria will most probably buy f-16 or gripen fighters the next year.

So what we have now (but still some new blood won't hurt),is enough for servicing and protecting our airspace.

Few years ago on practise fight,2 our Mig-21 Bis virtually shot down 2 F-15s in training fight,so it's the monkey in the cockpit that makes the difference.

Also if we were to invade and bring 'democracy' through out the world and anyone who doesn't like us,as what US is doing,then Yes the Mig-29A (better known as 9-12) with it's limited BVR capabilities won't be the best choice.

Actualy there's quite some truth in his words.With biplanes armed only with few 7.92mm machine guns,during WW2 we were shooting down Flying Fortresses,while the germans with their Focke Wulfs armed with 30 mm cannons,etc were having quite some trill with the B-17/B-24.Also I can give you many examples on the ground and air.

We use our army for our country's defence and our soildiers can use our country's relief to help us win over intruders (aka ambushes).The same goes for the airwar...

we have many MiG 21's but only about 30 in flight and almost none of the Su-22...but Su-25 is (in my opinion) still one of the best attack airplanes out there (and my favorite airplane ever),we should keep them,and also modernize our MiG-29's and keep them too!About the new ones (if any),i prefer Eurofighter or Mirage...

The candidates for new Bulgarian multirole fighter are F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, Eurofighter Typhoon, Saab JAS 39 Gripen and less probably F-16. I'll bet on F/A-18E/F or Eurofighter Typhoon. From the perspective of the Bulgarian necessities Gripen is considered too weak to be effective multirole fighter.

I would recommend the Eurofighter.

Again the F-16 is a very good fighter with much more advanced strike abilities (LANTIRN etc.). I mean the EF can also carry LGB's, but it's not the aircraft someone would use e.g. to go hunting tanks at night.
