"Do not worry budgie bottom". Is the line I would always say to myself to have a giggle. Thank you AFTrash for uploading this and thank goodness for youtube.
I remember seeing that when it aired - it was the crowning moment of Aussie sketch comedy - that week, those two were gods. And rightly so cuz that remains one of the funniest things I've ever seen. XD
This is the funniest piece of Australian television EVER. Like, it's never been beaten. And the point where Peter Moon calls him, "Budgie Bottom" that the scene just *goes*. Like, they're gone. There's no coming back from there :). And watching the actors try desperately *not* to crack up, that just makes it so much funnier. "It's your line!" BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
@congruent2006 Oh "Kangaroo's Scrotum", in time when you use the bathroom less often, and for it's correct function, you may understand satire and irony. But perhaps you won't, and alas, you will be condemned to search for humour watching the Ellen DeGeneres Show and find yourself clapping at everything but bereft of brain cells.
pure genius the face expression the timing even when they are pissin themselves and the camera guys...fuckin funny remember seeing this on tv these comdians worked brilliant together. timeless classic
I remember this show being on Thursday nights while in high school, it made Fridays that much more enjoyable. I used to like the rubbery figures. BUt when I watch this and get reminded of lines like "Awwww can you not beat the sh-t out of them?", it just cracks me up. Fantastic stuff.
@Louiseaus no actually im canadian, but that has nothing to do with the fact that this is poor comedy. first of all the premise of this tv series is insulted which can get a pass since its a parody, but the fact that these actors time after time laugh at something that isnt funny to the audience is sad. and just painful to watch. so who the fuck cares if this is australian or whatever the fuck it is, its still awful. good day prejudist.
@melikemusicalot Well, somebody has a temper as well as an inability to spell "prejudice" - unless "prejudist" has become a word that I lately missed? In any case I asked simply because many Americans - by their own admission - do not understand Australian humour. So keep your shirt on!
@Louiseaus i meant prejudist like u were prejudiced. yes its not a word but i dont give a fuck, i just convey my opinion and you got the message so stop being so bitter. and im canadian, not american. either way humour is supposed to be universal and thus everyone should be able to understand good humour. and your humour is lame.
@melikemusicalot Methinks that with all the defensive spluttering, you are the one that sounds bitter. And your opinion alone does not define a thing as "lame." Sigh...just not possible to have an intelligent conversation with most Youtubers, is it?
@Louiseaus im not bitter i just dont want you to come to the wrong conclusions. but yes you are correct in that its my opinion. Yes, it does not define. But to me what really matters is what I think and not what is widely accepted. but I also understand that is subjective of me. When I said it, I wasn't joking, I meant it, so I apologize for not respecting your opinion, that is wrong, but I still maintain my opinion that this video is lame, but I have to respect your opinion. That is fair.
@melikemusicalot A Canadian? Which is of course a USA reject. With your total lack of a sense of humour, let me guess ... you are a French Canadian? Your diatribe smacks of the bewilderment of someone who lacks the ability to understand irony. Did you parents hang a pork chop around your neck as a child to get your dog to play with you? You must have a very sad and boring existence.
@melikemusicalot Who says humour HAS to be universal? Youre free not to like it of course, but if you say so to a group of people who DO, and they have the anonymity of the internet, then youre going to have to expect to get some hate in reply Im afraid.
I love how Steve Vizard is trying his hardest not to laugh throughout the whole thing. I couldn't do it, I'd cack myself laughing if I was the one opposite Moon there.
This is so awesome. I wish I could go back to the days of Fast Forward and Acropolis Now. What the hell has happened to Australian comedy? It's virtually non-existent nowadays. There's Thank God You're Here and that's it. No sitcoms or anything anymore. I used to love shows like Hey Dad and All Together Now.
It seems as though reality TV has turned all our comedy shows in to topical comedy talk shows. But American sitcoms still go strong, so what's the deal?
I just thought, these two are like african black face but with tan and impersonate asian. I hope pc correctnes doesnt fall on this. Ifs funny as fuck. I remember watching ths on tell when I was younger hahha
God, that is just the funniest thing I've ever seen. The funny thing is, if they didn't crack up all the way through it, it wouldn't have been funny at all.
Fantastic, I just cant stop watching it. I miss all the old fast forward shows... i can't believe he was able to hold back from bursting into tears laughing, i know i was =D
The brides of satan is hysterical! What Magda says is closer to "Prince of darkness, Lord of evil, oh mighty pointed phallus! We are your concubines and we kneel before you in homage." I have a DVD that features this one, plus several outtakes because none of the others could keep a straight face while Madga was bellowing about Satan's pointed phallus :D
You sure can - there are several anthologies of FF skits on DVD, and this wonderful kung-fu one (which I cried laughing at the first time I saw it) is on two of the anthologies I own :)
I remember watching this on ch. 7 when it first aired close to 20 years ago and it's just as fucking funny now as it was then. True Aussie ComedyClassic.
Hiliarious, one of my all-time favourites, thanks for posting. Nearly as funny is the Jane Turner/Magda Szubanski "brides of satan". Been looking for that, but searching "Brides of Satan" on YT turns up all sorts of whacked-out shit.
I laughed my head off when I first saw this years ago & It brought tears to my eyes from laughter again now, thats probably the funniest sketch comedy routine ever.

it was like a well structured show each week. the replacement we have now are just crap. each week is just like a repeat, this had it like a tv show, a news piece, commercials, music video, everything

Vizard may have turned out to be a bit of a tosser but he was a comic genius IMHO. Loved how they kept cracking up, this is just a classic.
