  • Thanks for posting!I've been a fan of this tenor since I stumbled on a CD of his at the library. He had a rare combination of power and soft lyricism combined an incredible technique.

  • There are no tenors around today who could sing this piece as well as Volker -- even if he did do it in the "wrong" language:). There are also no tenors today with anything like Volker's superb technique, which gave him great tonal beauty as well as impressive power --
