Just why would a woman be charged for shooting an attacker? Unless she is unlucky enough to live in NY, NJ, MD, CA, IL, WI, MA or HI the law is pretty much on her side. Here in Florida, there isn't even a duty to retreat. If someone attacks you, you can shoot them. Its very cut and dry.

No, all those techniques are effective, it doesn't matter how tight the grip is, the technique is based on physics and leverage than strength. If they were more focused on keeping that grip it is easier to escape.
