  • Ka can handle all the boost you want mine is In. The shop right now being built to handle 40 pounds. And it was still cheaper then an SR and it will be it the same car as the viedo Cuz that's my car and I mad 400on the last block with just pistons and rods. I don't Dog the SR cuz I know what it can do but trust me the la can do the same.

  • Once most of you experience what it is like to have a turbo KA and then a SR20. Then come talk to me.......theres no comparisson as far as bang for your buck and reliability..... theres a reason why nissan used KA's in tons of nissans...they are cheap and are good for daily driving.....and they still arent reliable

  • hey ka and sr engine are almost exactly the same ka engine shave .4 liters more displacement and sr engines and just a little tougher but if your trully building a car to race then you would replace all the internals on a ka engine anyways getting rid of the fact that it used cheaper parts. so wheres the difference in the end

  • I'm no expert but just search around on youtube. There's people with the same setup as you but a t28 making 282 hp. I would thing you should at least be past 300

  • Face it KA owners, you have one because either you couldn't afford an SR or can't swap an SR or can't find an SR engine. This engine was built for boost and I have personally seen one go from 200 hp to 500 hp with just a slap on new turbo. This is with stock internal. Why do you think U.S didn't buy the SR motor back in the day? SR20 240sx is worth more then KAT 240sx.

I do not know what you are trying to say about the rocker arms? if they are bad stock it is okay we can order really good ones right away where for the KA engine they make no after market parts and if they do they are either custom or very very expensive. kat is not an sr20 killer when it only beats it by hood length even though it is bigger engine and probably bigger turbo.

  • @Shabbernigdo thing is, people go with KA's cus theyre dirt cheap to build and to replace. the engine only cost a couple hundred bucks to buy. if you slap on an SR20 T25 it can make over 300 crank HP versus 205hp on the red top SR.

    But for a clean 1JZ swap at most being $4k you get 300hp twin turbo I6.

    RB's near that will cost so much more.

    But I'm still an RB26 fan don't get me wrong, but JZ's are more realistic.
