  • This looks amazing, I hope we don't have to wait long to see this movie like we did with Killer Of Sheep and My Brother's Wedding.

Thank you, "Namibia, Politics of Liberation" is light years ahead of its time as I have also found to be equally true with the prescient, Mr. Charles Burnett. Since he is in the vanguard of international filmakers and directors, it is intriguing to realize that the marketing and dissemination of his creative work lags behind his directorial impetus. This represents a gross understanding of how to market a world class director who is ahead of the curve on social issues.....

  • My comment below should have read £5,000,000 not 500,000 so I aplogise for that

We are now working on a proper distribution deal and should have that sorted in a couple of months from now

    Stay tuned

    Creative Producer

  • @kisslite Your comment is 5 months old now, any luck with distribution? I have always been fascinated with & interested in African history from the early 60's independence movement, up to & including current events. I would REALLY like to see this movie!, but I can't find a DVD to buy. I hope we won't have to wait 30yrs to see this, as with Charles Burnett's "Killer of Sheep"? I read it was financed by the government of Namibia. I don't care if I have to order 1 from there, I want to see it!

  • @gjc82071 Thank you so much for your interest - distribution is proving a sticky point - we have only two prints; and are hoping to do a screening soon with some BIG distributors - probs were just that everyone wants to be paid the minute we get dist - and yet with no money to market to the film this means that someone is going to have to front that bit up - and that means they will also want to get paid first - Catch 22!! You are one of many I can assure you Simon J Miller

    Producer

  • @kisslite I hope everything get's worked out, & the movie isn't lost to bureaucracy, as it seems much work went into making it. I assume you have big hopes for the film, aspiring for International, & many theater release, but as a last resort, if all else fails, have you considered maybe doing a small production run of DVD's, & selling them on a website? Considering HOW the movie was funded, & it's content, I would be willing to pay more than for regular movies, maybe like $30 to $40 US Dollar

  • @kisslite It's been 6 months & I wanted to check in & see how the film distribution problem was coming along? Am I ever going to get to see/buy this movie, or not? It seem like such a shame/waste to spend millions of $ on a movie, only for it never to be officially released in theaters/to DVD. Isn't there any way possible I can buy the movie? Pplease let me know. Thanks!

  • theres not one country in the world that ever got better under black rule!

  • @kingofcb1900? Look at the video hear without sleeping about `The Africa that they never show you on tv! Have a good look

  • what a load of bullshit! Rather make movies about countries/peolpe that are really struggling to survive. Not this crap about Sam

  • @pielates? Do u know who is Sam Nujoma and why this Movie or Documentary is needed?Let me tell u if u never knew that he was freedom fighter for the African liberation struggle for equality!

  • I know the producer personally, and it was paid for by a private consortium in - go on - guess where - yes, Nigeria - top of the class for you - (and it only cost £500, 000 to make) - see it - it is brilliant - just needs distribution - we are working on it - stand by

  • Everyone

Don't let an American production (a country that didn't know kak about southern africa)

    make you believe this.

0:40 "...South Africans attacked a refugee camp at Cassinga..." Marxist South West Africa's People Organization attacked and killed innocent civilians of the country.

These people were fighting as terrorist's and communists.

South African's were the good guy's here!!!

But still I would like to see this movie,,, is it available to rent in America, is it on DSTV???

  • I just saw this film! It is excellent!!

  • is it on DStv???

  • wher have you watched? pls hook me up am dyin to watch it pls

  • PLEASE PEOPLE!!!

80million Nam Dollars... for a film that is yet to "really" be released.

The Namibian public had to pay for it and now?? Where is this film?

Mandela deserves a film like this not Sam. A decent documentary on Sam would have done the job and money into fixing the hospitals or building schools would be better.

  • Woohoo! This movie is coming to the Washington, DC area on March 9th, 2008 @ 1pm. Can't afford to miss it.

Be there; purchase your ticket before it's sold out: AFI Silver Theater, tel: (301) 495-6743. Address: 8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910
