We celebrated our 25th anniversary last year. He suffered for 3 years with service-connected lung cancer related to agent orange that was sprayed on the DMZ in Korea during the Vietnam War. On Jan. 23rd, I had this song played at my husband's memorial. I had never even heard of Enya (I am 62), but she is now my favorite. I think this song speaks to all who have lost a loved one. That's what makes it beautiful, universal! I know my husband is with me, listening too, and watching over me. <3

It does get easier to live with, one day at a time, but I no longer allow it to dictate my feelings and took back control of how I would live with it, so as not to ruin anyone else Holiday around me. @Schemilix Did you ever consider that the pain of seeing someone again and again but knowing you can never be with them again could hurt far worse than the pain of some one dying? When someone dies you know you never will see them again but that pains lessens a bit over time because you don't have the constant reminder in front of you that you will never be with that person again. I've experienced both and it hurts worse when you see that special person regularly but can't be with them.

I don't need to see his face to feel my pain. My husband died in my arms. I tried to save him but he died even with my attempts. I live with that every day. It's been 10 years and it feels like yesterday. You have the choice to avoid seeing this other person. Don't put yourself in that postion.
