dude this sounds like there in no oil getting to head at all. i was doing an oil change on a ford bronco and prior to the change the lady comes in i have a problem...its making the same noise i look around she has zero oil in this thing. stupid people do stupid things its funny

acuras are good cars. even though the rsx is made by 90% honda parts the car ways as much as a mini cooper and has a 210 horsepower engine so the power to weight ratio is better than a bmw m3. So the thing moves pretty quick. not to mention the fact that there is such an abundance of aftermarket parts for it. I have an 05 rsx type s and i love it so much.

Hey my 03 civic si with 120000 miles makes pretty similer noise from yours. i was woundering what it was and thought it possibly could be rod knock.

what kind of oil do you put in to your engine? 5w20?

@mrblockboii well i dont think its a rod knock on this one. soudns like probally somehow belt valve at either one of the 16, and the first thing i would do is a valve ajustment, also make sure your oil level is proper. and i wanna say the older K's use 5w30 oil. im pretty sure it takes 5w30.

WTF! This sounds bad. My 4 banger was having a similar problem, it was valve lash. Changed oil and did valve adjustment to specs, torqued and closed the valve cover. You may want to readjust your valves dude. It took me two tries to nail it. I had missadjusted two valves on my first try. The only tap sound I get now is when my engine is cold. And that goes away after 1-2 min on cold start up.

This noise is just tappets that need adjusting. I have the 2.4 engine that makes a noise when cold. I spoke to a Honda dealer and they said that is normal and they (or any garage that is decent) can adjust the gap and cure the noise.
