lol, do you really think these guys making this machine are going to release it for free to the world. I wish it were so. It's just I bet they have investors who made em sign contracts, and in those contracts it's worth x amount of $ and if you (the inventor) have probably lost your rights to do what you want with it :( Money is what people do things for. Until you can change your world outlook you will be stuck and also hold the entire technological development with the greedy 'want' of money!!
@timatlightbox It really doesn't look that hard to replicate...since as it is a concrete dispenser operating on guide rails directed by a algorithm which, when properly programmed, will repeat a sequence until the parameters set are reached - once finished, so is the dwelling. It's feasible and not beyond accomplishing to anyone who has enough knowledge regarding computers, robotics and architecture. No money really needed...
Hell, I would only have to work a 10 hour week it there was some giant robot that could build cheap homes and cut out the labor cost. 70% of my income goes to mortgage right now!
Do you really WANT that shitty construction job? Ever worked in construction? It sucks. Wouldn't you rather live in a world where people did what they WANTED to do because material goods were abundant? Ever heard of the Zeitgeist movement? Check it out. "Jobs" are just another form of slavery - Economic slavery, because money is made of Debt and that's what they pay you with. Time to change the Paradigm!
@guthix222 How does one become good at "being a millionaire"? It's a Skill Set so they must have LEARNED it from somewhere, like their Millionaire Parents or Mentors in which case they had Differential Advantage over others. Statistically, the rich stay rich & the poor stay poor - or we'd have tons of millionaires.
I'm sorry but your statement is what is called a Logical Fallacy or Non-Sequitur. See the Critical Thinking video on my channel for more. Please reevaluate your thought process.
@guthix222 So money is the only thing worth striving for? Money is Fake, you can't eat it, wear it, use it for power, etc. it is a rigged means of resource distribution & its "value" is controlled by those who print it. Great system there! Watch Zeitgeist: Moving Forward or The Secret of OZ & educate yourself a little. You're speaking in terms you don't understand for starters.
you are just a paranoid asshole on the internet. shit sucks but don't look to radical explanations and conspiracy theories.
the US is fighting the war on drugs in afghanistan in order to sell the drugs itself and control the market. that doesn't mean not supporting the US is the way to go. money is what we use, get the fuck over it and quit being so convinced that you're right.
@guthix222 So your solution to global problems is "shut the fuck up & deal with it"? Brilliant! What an agent for positive change you are! I offer proof for the ideas I advocate, you offer childish insults, empty bravado & support for those who oppress you. Drugs are 1/90th of why we're in Afghanistan, the Trillion $ in minerals, natural gas pipeline access & geopolitical advantage are why our corporatocracy is there. Why do you let others frame the conversation for you? Dig a little deeper.
Its not about cost or speed, but rather about freeing us from that task, so what if its slow you dont have to do it, and in the future maybe we can sit back and have robots mine, build, plant, cook, clean ......
this is not about building faster or about costs, its about developing ways to free humans from labor intensive tasks (or any task.) isnt that the objective of technology
interssting Idea... much more applicable on a smaller scale currently tho. The cost in maintaining a complex machine large enough to do a house and exotic materials that would be needed would equal or surpass normal house building costs.
Well if you really stop and think about it just beceause it may be forgotten as a emans to build a house it may be picked back up as a means to produce something else.
Hell potato chips were created by..I belive it was a french chef, who was angered by a customer who kept sending his potatos back to the kitchen asking they be cut thinner and cooked longer. Potato chips were invented beceause the chef had intended to anger the customer.
The layers would only be ten cm thick or so. I think the material could be engineered to set quickly, in such thin layers, without stress cracks. Also, you could insert reinforcing rods.
I can see how this would work in real life, but it would be impossible to build a house in less than 24 hours unless you use quick setting cement/concrete. Even then, you would have residual stress cracks.
Technology is not new at all, it is about 40 years old but the automation process is.
There aren't any doors because a rectangular door will just collapse in the process. The developer could have made a door. I know if I made a machine like that, mine will be able to do it.

Yep. A Resource Based Economy. Material self sufficiency is the first step to that. Like what Open Source Ecology is doing,

@kingofthebrittains man you're retarded
you can do whatever the fuck you want if you've got the stats for it.
you know why you're not a millionaire?
because you're not good at it. if you were good at being a millionaire, you'd be a millionaire. it's that simple.

there's way faster ways to make that wall module they showed at the end. no offense to the robot.

SailorBarsoom 4 years ago
Is it possible to insert reinforcing rods without it poking out the side while it's being pushed in?
JustMakingComments 4 years ago
I've seen animation of it inserting rebar, plumbing, electric, and so on. But I have yet to see it don't IRL.

Actually the real-home version would be about as big as two small construction cranes.
A planet? Yeesh.
The material would be concrete. Not that expensive. Also, it could build any shape. That's why they had it build weird shapes in this demo.
