thanks!! ellie left peyton a note saying that peyton had a brother, b4 she died ( it was in a album). peyton found it after. when she called the number the real Derek hung up on her. Psycho Derek was like a stalker, heard her podcast about her brother, and came in and pretended to be him. it fit because he actually kinda looked like peyton. hope that helps :)
