That Mayan calender stuff is taken way out of proportion - the calender DOES end in December of 2012, but it isn't the end of the world - it's the end of the 12th B'ak'tun and the start of the 13th B'ak'tun, which is a Mayan cycle roughly 250,000 years long which is only a reset of the calender.
