Wow! but Marc, what about when symptoms arise related to certain medications???...i have stuttering and involuntary syllable repetitions with certain pain meds, (Rx type..), and anticholinergic (antihistaminic); meds??...any time i have to take these it seems to happen and can last for days...is this also a 'tourettes' type phenomenon? i noticed how you had the real hard jaw clamping repitition too- and i have also had this, Oh and tongue thrusting into the roof of my mouth !!...What do U think?
Marc, Thank you for this video. You are a remarkable and strong person. I think it is wonderful that you are promoting "tolerance" but I think I have a better word - acceptance. I think people need to learn to accept people for who they are - not just simply tolerate them. To tolerate implies a reluctance. Acceptance is entirely different. Keep up the work, I really admire you.
This man gave a speech at my school yesterday, and he is one of the greatest people I've ever met. He knows how to control his Tourette's and told me some of his unbearably sad stories.
Wow, that was really inspirational, thank you :) i have both verbal and physical tics as well, and its sometimes really hard to feel normal. Im still at school, so theres always people talking behind my back which is really demoralising. It would be so much easier if people could see past the tics and see me for who i am :)
you are an inspiration. i don't suffer from tourettes, rather social anxiety, but your message applies to everyone everywhere from all backgrounds. there's a reason why everyone is the way that they are. we're all human and we all deserve not just tolerance, but acceptance
I just don't understand why they shout words like "faggot" or "nigger" or "cunt" if it's not already something they're thinking about. It's obviously on their mind so, I assume, this is how they truly think deep down. Where did these words and thoughts come from (especially in little kids with TS)? I get offended because you're thinking these things, not because of your lack of ability to control yourself from saying/yelling them. Good video though, I understand TS a little bit better now.
@phxflyguy Listen to him speak. Or watch the video.... he explains. Part of Tourette's is that it makes you think of the worst possible thing to say in any given situation, for example, when he's kissing a girl he'd say another girl's name. Or in airports he screams "bomb!" It's not like everyone with Tourette's is a bad person and thinks about these things all the time. You're doing exactly what he says not to do: judge and say something about it when you don't really know.
@phxflyguy Its like when you're in a situation where you think to yourself "This is the worst time to say ____" and then he's compelled to say it. I'm sure that happens to everyone
@phxflyguy How dense can you be? Haven't you ever had a thought come into your head that you really didn't mean to think about. When a thought comes into your head, it just does. You can't control it. Like I saw a lady today and the first thought that came to my head was that she looked tacky. I didn't really feel that way though and would never tell someone that. For people with Tourette's, they vocalize thoughts they don't really mean. Usually theyre thinking of things they heard before.
@soso694 I'm sorry. It was an honest question. I did watch the entire video & understand that the most inappropriate thing that comes to their mind ends up being the the thing that they say. However, when I see a black person, the last thing on my mind is nigger. When I see a gay person, the last thing on my mind is faggot. Maybe deep deep down I might think of those words, I guess. I'm just trying to understand. Isn't that the point of this this video? Don't be angry at me for asking.
He spoke at my school today! People just need to deal with people like that. He said that now he able to control his tourettes. He is very funny and made my whole middle school laugh multiple times. I don't care if he's different, he seems like a great guy.
@TheEpicawesometime I like what u said and the way u think about him. That's great that he went to your school,my brother Has tourette but he still coping with a lot of difficulties but I show him this video he feel much better anyway take care. Mad love xoxox later!

he just spoke at a convention of mine 2 days ago... he was a huge inspiration and let us know that he has just learned a week ago to completely control his tic's. I really enjoyed listening to him
He has a great personality and is very inspirational. He's so optimistic and you can just see that he's a great person. People can be so rude when they say "can you try to control it" (like security guy, or w/e) as if somebody with tourettes is doing it on purpose. Even after the guy told him that he was sorry and had tourettes syndrome, he was still rude about it. Keep your head up!
I am 59 years old, and have Tourettes. I was told the tics would ease with age, but mine has gotten more intense. I have never let it be a handicap. Some days are better than others. I do pissed at rude people that stare, or make rude comments. I supervised the electrical dept. of an industrial manufacturing plant for years, and when company the President, Ceo, or other dignitaries visited I was never invited to meetings or outings because my managers were afraid my tics would be annoying.
I don't think girls really give a shit about him having tourettes, judging by the comments they just all wanna fuck him.
He seems like a cool guy, though. I think it's pretty wrong that the security guard was telling him off like that. Even if he's unaware, he told him he had tourettes and he was still like "Ok, well can you keep it down?".
I do not feel bad for you. I do not pity you. I would not treat you any differently if I ever met you. That all being aside, you have a great personality from at little of it that makes it through your videos. I think you're really cool actually and brave as hell that you can put these videos out with all these people who keep hating on you, but I dont. You're just a normal person to me. Someone different the same way im different from tons of other people
Well, some common sense about your condition would tell you not to go or expose yourself to people or places where you KNOW that you can get in trouble. You should not use your condition as an 'excuse' to just go around and 'get away with it'.
For example, the library part. I can be your friend, I know your condition, but, dude! I came to study for tomorrow's exam and you know that you are (not on purpose) not letting me study in peace. You KNOW that you shouldn't be in the libary with me now!
@SomeoneCommenting You cannot restrict someone from going to a library because they have touretts. If he needs to check out a book, God forbid, HE needs to study for an exam and needs the resources of a library and what not to do so then quit being such an ass and be considerate. Lifes not all about you
Marc - you are an inspiration and i commend you for your bravery and courage. My dad has Tourette's so i have grown up around it (but he is not as extreme or severe as you are) but i have always been in the atmosphere of someone with it and have grown to not only tolerate but accept someone who is different. thank you for speaking out and teaching the world what i think is a much needed lesson. To live and let live!
@jonas4236 haha all I'm saying is that nobody would look at him strange there, cuz everyone is gettin loud n crazy and having a good time, and he'd fit right in and it' d be fun lol
I have a moderate case of tourettes. I hate it... It makes tired at the end of the day, and it hinders my ability to learn because I'm distracted by it a lot of the time. Is there a treatment? I just bought be a bottle of magnesium tablets, but I don't think I have magnesium dificiency...
Poor guy. But he's handling his disorder very well. Good for him. I get the sense that he's gay, but I'm not certain. Does anyone else sense that? (Note: I am absolutely pro-gay so this is not a provocative question).
@RageSnipersgaming dont feed the troll just remember that the guy with Tourettes will do better in life then he/she will! and dont worry i would happily see that troll burn in hell!
Fucking tourretts faggot. Burn in hell mother fucker. No one gives a shit about fucking tourretts you pussy now deal with it. Everybody probably found this video by looking up tourretts as something to laugh at. Now fuck you touretts bitch pussy
You know I was kinda feeling weird for noticing all the attractive girls with tourettes and watching all their videos and finding it sorta, I dunno, cute I guess, but plenty of girls are doing it for this guy who's obviously a good looking fella.
Nice to know if you're attractive and have tourettes, then it just makes everybody wanna fuck you more.
I feel for u not pity I know what u and ur Brother is going through. My brother Jose is going through it and I'm trying to have him to be strong like you and u don't have to hide away from the world,he sees you and a lot others like u in this video. My brother who is 17 turning 18 on February 5 he's a good kid, you're his and my hero Thank you. God bless you xoxox .
God bless you for accepting it and teaching ppl about it. Still makes me mad that people get mad at this. Its not like its his fault! Its like if people were to harass me because of my stuttering :(
Marc with the constant snapping of your teeth you have flattened you canine teeth. If this goes on, your teeth will become sensitive to acidic foods and probably feel pain while eating a fruit with its skin. I suggest you buy a thin silicone mouth guard.
This was a great video! If you take away his condition, what do you have??? A good looking young guy that is caring and educated. Great attitude man! Thanks for educating me on this condition.
Marc, I have a 23 year old daughter that also has tourettes and ocd. She was diagnosed at age 9. She is stunning and amazing! She has gone through lots of the same things you have. She is a graduate of a large university and now is in nursing school and do wonderful things. I sent this video to her, I am anxious for her to see you. I am impressed with you and your life decisions, just like I am with my daughter. Beautiful :) You two are stronger than anyone that I know.
A few kids at my school have TS. One of them is very obvious and when I first met him I was just like "wtf is wrong with you". I feel bad that I thought of him as some freak until I knew about TS and knew him. It taught me to never assume things about people when I don't know them, and now I tell people to stop making assumptions. Good luck to everyone with any disability!
I never met with a neurologist about TS but I feel as if I have it. Uneducated as I was, I didn't understand what was going until I turned 20 when I saw it on TV. It started with hums, then words, now hand clinches and neck twisting. Occausionally I do vocal but attempt to play it off with a cough. When I did have to explain why i was doing these tics, the best way I could put it to words was "it's like an addiction, if I didn't do it I would feel as if I really need to do it and when I do it,
Hey, hun. I totally understand your daily struggles. I, too, suffer from TS. I find it nothing to be ashamed of and usually joke around about it with people but, like you, I face harsh criticism from strangers and occasional family members. Though I don't have coprolalia, my vocal tics often cause people to believe i'm laughing at them or mocking them. My physical tics are more prominent than my vocal tics though; I've actually hit my ribs so hard that i've knocked myself unconscious.
That's great! As someone who stammers, I know how difficult it is to constantly be afraid that you might make a strange sound and embarrass yourself in public. Good for you for going out there and talking about this publicly!
From someone with TS, kudos for stepping up to the plate and spreading a message everyone needs to take to heart--and, obviously, not just toward people with TS.
Sometimes low doses of mind expanding drugs, give the brain different key instructions and it changes the way you perceive the illness, as long as you know your root cause ect I would only recommend it as a last resort! Cya
I used to say things I didn't mean or where the opposite, when I held these words back I would tick! You know its like somebody saying don't think of a pink elephant and you can't help but think about them. Im lucky they both seemed to cancel themselves out. But it is very real! I probably would not suggest this, but the problem resolved after taking a few ecstasy tabs, under the right conditions. For some reason they went after that experience! ;) Hope you get better!
this mademe cry! I also have Tourette . I think it's so cool that you took the train and bus, and go shopping, etc. when you have Tourette. I can not, because I cant handle the way people look at me, and make fun. Sorry for the bad english ..
Omg i feel so sorry for this guy. I have the tourette Syndrome, and im 12. I do blink with my eyes and have to touch my nose and i am twisting my stomach and many other stuff.. it is really uncomfortable. Im so afraid that it will get worse becouse theres nothing i can do to make it go away :( I relly relly respect this guy!
i think its great that someone who actually has this disablilty has strength to stand infront of others and talk about it.All to often you get speakers talking about tourettes, who infact have no idea of what its like to live with this 24/7,but only know the medical terms. Its a big thumbs up from me, for you having the strength to stand infront of people and tell them the true facts. I for one don't think its anything to be ashamed of. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.ps your gorgeous x
This was really enlightening. I know a lot about PTSD (I have it) and Schizophrenia (my dad has it) but almost nothing about Tourette's. Not saying those are similar problems, just that you probably get judged in a similar way when people notice/find out you have it. I'm glad I watched.
for a guy with tourettes he sure as hell has much control.

Marc with the constant snapping of your teeth you have flattened you canine teeth. If this goes on, your teeth will become sensitive to acidic foods and probably feel pain while eating a fruit with its skin. I suggest you buy a thin silicone mouth guard.

When I did have to explain why i was doing these tics, the best way I could put it to words was "it's like an addiction, if I didn't do it I would feel as if I really need to do it and when I do it,
s2000hearts 2 months ago

For some reason they went after that experience! ;) Hope you get better!

i think its great that someone who actually has this disablilty has strength to stand infront of others and talk about it.All to often you get speakers talking about tourettes, who infact have no idea of what its like to live with this 24/7,but only know the medical terms.
