@Pryzoner I know its only one persons opinion, but I found it was actually pretty good. Takes some liberties of course, as surely any modern stories you could base on ancient mythology would, if not must. But it was quite well balanced in my opinion with characters and depictions, as well as a 'sciencey' (sci-fi-y) explanation of how he could exist. Or maybe it was the two very nice looking guys that swayed my view of the film...!

Chris Hemsworth did an incredible job in this film, you can really tell he gave it his all. It was his first big Hollywood movie in a leading role, before that he had a small role in Star Trek, and worked on a small Soap Opera in Australia for years. He came out explosive, and he is going to be in The Avengers, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Thor 2, so watch out for those. His brother Liam is okay but he got lucky with Miley Cyrus. They both got lucky actually, jobs millions of Americans want.

This ruined eveything Thor stands for! I am part of the Asatru faith/religion (Norse Paganism) and this has just made the image of Asgard and Midgard as some kind of futuristic fan boy thing. This may be based on a comic but it is too cheesy for my understanding. Yes, I like Marvel, but to make it based on Gods'. This is offensive. What if God was made a Marvel hero? What then?

Thor was a good movie,but Brannagh made too long scenes where Thor is on earth....These scenes could be shorter.And when Thor gets his hammer back and gain his armour back,his helmet could appear on his head.That one what has wings.I wanted to saw a bolts from his eyes during the fight with destroyer.That scene was too short.. He could play with him,just a while so battle could be more excitting .for me.When he was flying straight to him he could scream and have bolts around him(for efect).

I come from Norway, and i also grew up with the stories about Thor and Odin. And even though this movie isn`t that good. I still get chills every time i see this movie, especially when thor swings his mighty hammer in the scene where he fights the destroyer!!

So anyway, a big thanks to Kenneth Branagh who reminded me to read about Thor and the great stories again....makes me damn proud to be a scandinavian :D

@katoyushiromitsu Well the Asian fellow, Hogun The Grim, always had a Mongolian look to him. So they're keeping that in line w/ the comic. And black gentleman is Idris...who was cast cuz he's a damn fine actor that has an acting quality transcends whatever race he may be and is very cool.

@solidsnakepac I agree that Idris did a fine job in the role. He played the role of Heimdall with the proper degree of grimness that was required. He still did seem out of place, but the quality he brought to the role lessened any gripes I might have had.
