These people are right. Let's ban deer hunting so that they overpopulate, their food in areas dwindle away, and they all become diseased and a majority of the population dies off. Now that is ethical! With proper hunting management the deer will have strong healthy herds, and yes, a harvested animal should be used for food and there are people who do not hunt ethically, but the majority do.

We need to remember that even if we harvest 1000 deer legally and ethically.... a reported poaching arrest or witnessed bad hunting ethics/practices is placed over the 1000 by most of the public and gives "ammo" to the antihunters. We all then become just like those reported or witnessed. Ask the land owner who won't give you hunting rights or access why he won't? OK, I'll get off my soap box but it's something that I feel true hunters and outdoorsmen need to keep in mind to keep our hunting

Now these "hunters" did NOT know they were talking to a reporter, he had been hunting with me and was dressed in camo, but can you imagine the image he could have painted of hunters. Your video shows very ethical hunting. Taking time to scout, not shooting at the first deer, waiting for the proper shot, obeying the hunting laws and proper respect for wildlife. We need this if we are going to preserve our hunting. Please don't think you can't because we can.

I liked your video for what it does for hunting. Hunting is under attack by tree huggers and such. The "new" hunting philosophy gives these anti-hunters their "ammo". Recently I was talking in a store with several other hunters and they mentioned nine deer they had "flung arrows at" this season not recovering a single one. They couldn't care less. A reporter from a local newspaper was with me. Thank God he is a hunter because he knew these were @#$%^ hunters and not typical. (continued)

They don't go over because if they spook the wounded deer it may get up and run. Then they have to track it and there's a chance they won't recover the animal. It would have died in vain. By letting the animal lay in place and expire there is no tracking and they are guaranteed to recover it. Wasting nothing.

If there were no hunters to control the population if a sertain animal, it could acyually result in more human deaths from animals. Starting this year deer season has been extended and free deer landowner permits. Oh and deer meat tastes awesome.
