these are british models so they go faster but american made one hardly ever break 8mph but can oull like no other

What is a maximum speed of one of these steam engines?
@MarciusJV 8-10 mph althought there were some McClarens recorded as fast as 17 mph

The engines used for heavy steam haulage are very strong but not even very fast. The police escort will protect the engines and the load from stupid modern cardrivers trying to overtake ! ;-)
... No it´s for traffic matters !
