By the way, "Germany above everything" has to be assessed in it's historical context: When the anthem was written in 1841, Germany was still seperated in several principalities. This song was written in a time when there was a strong movement to overcome the seperation and form one united Germany. The Deutschlandlied is inspiring national unity rather than presumptuousness, which makes much more sense if you look the rest of the verse.

Hey, no reason to be insulting. "Sieg Heil" (hail victory) in thies form comes from the Nazis first! the old Germanic peoples say "Sal og Sig" (heil dem Sieg) but that is not the same.

@LetzteProphezeihung Naja, wie du mitbekommen hast, fand ich es ein wenig diskriminierend soetwas zu behaupten (wgen Italiänischen Faschisten). So viel zu diesem Thema! Aber du kennst mich doch nicht, wegen Aussehen und Hygiene. Mach ich dir etwa Anschuldigungen? oder beleidige dich einfach so? Ich meine mir kommt es vor das du etwas gegen Faschisten hast, was ja in Ordnung ist, und gegen Demokraten und fals das der Fall sein sollte, scher dich zum Teufel!

@MissNintendo95 Mit 15 voll gefangen im Mainstream, verbreitest du hier einen Kappes! Man müsste die Strophen ändern das es zu den heuten geographischen grenzten passt!!! Wer bezahlt die EU und hält noch ein paar andere Länder am leben! Wieso ist das nur so? evtl weil Made in Germany wieder gefragt ist in der Welt? Also das ist das Deutschlandlied! Melodie von Haydn in Rohrau und Text von August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben .
1922, zur Zeit der Weimarer Republik, erklärte Reichspräsident Friedrich Ebert das Deutschlandlied mit allen drei Strophen zur Nationalhymne des Deutschen Reichs.
Die Hymne gab es schon vor Hitler!!!
Da Deutschland heutzutage nicht mehr von Etsch nach Belt und von Mass bis an die Memel grenzt, beschränkt man sich auf die 3. Strophe des Deutschlandliedes!
