Half life 2 High Graphics on the Intel 950GMA or 945GM

Game run slow but you use integrated graphic card. I have Intel P4 2,8 GHz, 1 GB RAM and i played first on my integrated Radeon Xpress 200 card and ran slowly too. When I bought GeForce 8600 GT I set max detail, resolution etc. and game run fast. My advice is: buy even worst graphic card on PCIe 16X slot.

@Fareseru I cant get past the first cut scene :S it freezes and crashes.

its an Acer 3690

Half life 2 Episode one works well, suddenly lags a lot but I cant play Half life 2 cuz it crashes :S

what can i do to get pass trough it?

When I run this on my laptop with similar specs:

2GB RAM, Intel Mobile 965GMA, 2.2 Ghz intel Core 2 Duo mobile, Windows Vista Home Premium

It ran pretty well at first. However, a few hours of gaming later, the graphics became glitchy beyond belief, as walls suddenly become half-invisible and it runs really slow, even on the lowest settings.

Strangely enough, whenever I run Garry's Mod, I have no issue whatsoever with the graphics.

@Nettacki I'd also say that it never got better since, as ALL Source games running on this laptop have the same crappy issues.

@Fareseru wow.... how come ur getting lower fps than me? my amd phenom 2 x4 @ 3.2ghz with gts 250 and 4gb ram @ 1333mhz gets 175 to 200 fps. lowest fps was round 124.

yeah i think you are right, i just bought ATI Sapphire vapor-x 5770 HD and it has 128bits xD

Nah, just when you use the flashlight it causes lots of shadows and they are a big laggggggggg factor :( I had the same.

How does ep 2 run?

I have a similar setup, with a Dell Inspirion 1750 with core 2 duo 2,6ghz running Windows 7 64 bit, 4 gigs ram, and a 945gm. Normally, the opening part in the water crawls to 14 fps with all settings low, but using the 9xx soldiers modded drivers nets another 4 fps, and decent fps overall. But there's still plenty of scenes that go as low as 13 fps.

On LOW settings.

And you're getting similar in Half Life 2 on high? Shadows and everything? What's your secret?

great graphics and fps it doesn't run it fly, if you could give me the torrent where you downloaded(if you get from a torrent) and just one thing, what does mean 4x aa and 4x af?

I got it off Steam which is like Torrents but you pay and get a steady Download rate no matter how many seeds/leechers. Normally it runs great, 25 FPS, but FRAPS Hugely impacted it, like hugely. Check out my Far Cry vid, even though its laggy as and i was really testing out the HD option, its still great for the graphics and thats all i really got it 4. AA means Anisotropic Analyzing, which im not sure what it is, AF means Aniostropic Filtering which is the quality of Graphics on an angle.

AA means Anti-aliasing, and is used for when a lower resolution image is blown up to higher resolutions to minimize distortions. Basically it smooths jagged edges.

@Gfrohman07 I'm afraid to turn it on, because of the performance hit. But at max 1600 x 900, the jaggies are barely noticeable. At lower res, they're much worse.
