  • Ruby, I love all your videos.

  • that's the best! thank you so much, I thoroughly enjoyed it as I do all of Ruby's tunes she plays.........talk about talented!

  • Hey Ruby.....I just LOVE hearing you play the fiddle....you make me smile..and that's worth a lot...

  • Thank you for playing the song ... I'm learning it now.

  • My favorite fiddler!

  • Whalen's Breakdown is a different tune! Ruby & Lee do a great job of Logger's Breakdown which I have only heard played well by the late Lee Cremo. Whalen's Breakdown is done very well by the late Graham Townsend! An Gordon Stobbe does a nice job of the tunes too! I had the pleasure to play the accordion along with Gordon Stobbe while he was doing a fundraiser while he was playing his fiddle.

  • You've solved my problem ! Gordon Stobbes site listed the tune I'm looking for as "WHALEN BREAKDOWN" - I'm trying it on the mandolin. Give it a go yourself. I find the tune relies less on ornamentation then Loggers, and is easier to play on the mandolin - more tunful. Thanks Brian

  • Could this be the WHALERS BREAKDOWN? Both tunes were on Don Messers 78 recording, but I can't remember which is which. I like the other tune better. But boy, did he play them fast - too fast for dancing I guess. We lived in Vancouver in the 40s/50s and the loggers would have danced to it - also the fisherman and whalers. My dad worked on the boats for the Western Whaling Corporation and the BC Packers. Thanks for bringing the tune back to life !!

  • Thank You, I learned it from a Gordon Stobbe tune book. I love it and Canadian dance music.

  • nice tune!

  • super bon félicitation beaucoup de talent

  • Your a pretty good player. I just finished figuring out this song, nice song!

  • nice :)

  • Do you know an old fiddle tune called The Cat & Dog?

  • I love that tune, I play it on the piano accordion! Fiddle & guitar sound great together! Piano and bass would really enhance that number(but believe me, it sounds excellent the way it is, no roomfor improvment needed here!) 5 Stars +

  • Have you got the published music? Would solve my problem on Loggers vs Whalers Breakdown

  • Yeah I love to share my music with everybody.

Thanks for all the comments I really apperciate it.

    Ruby:)

  • I'm not going to watch all your music tonight. I'm going to save some for when I need a picker-upper! Thanks for sharing!
