Very nice music when playing Runes of Magic or WoW, or just drawing kobolds and dragons. Anyway, anything which has to do with celts and magic stuff, remembers me to this track.
"The Celts" is my favorite of all her works - I've listened to it by lamplight in snowstorms, driving through the forest in the summer, and everywhere in between.
I smell the scent of Gentry in this melody. You know it from a distance, when those Seelies be singin' their songs. It haunts your ears for years later! Trust me.
This reminds me of a very odd, but good animation called "The Sectret of Kells", This piece is like some of the music in that movie. It's a story about the Book of Kells, a copy of the gospels, and some say the most beautiful book ever written tthat was composed in the 9th century. Watch it, you might like it.
I was listening to this song while reading the Pellinor series. The series is about the story of a young girl and how she unravels the secrets of the bards as well as learning her role among them.
I love this song! lol, i listened to this song for two hours straight on constant playback in my car, and it started driving my dad crazy! but i can never get tired of this song. thank you for posting it!
I agree, she is an idol. I'm a big fan, first time in Dublin I met her was by accident. The second time in Wales I waited outside the arena she was playing at, in the pouring rain, she stopped for a brief moment to sign my autograph book, take a photo and say hello. And she was charming on both occasions.
Enya is the one person I want to meet before I die. It would be kind of funny for me to stand next to her though seeing as I'm 5' 6" and she's 4 inches shorter than me! But that just proves that good things come in small packages!
@ggagg123 Oh my goodness, how did you get to meet her? I must know the proper way to do this. I have dreamt of meeting her my whole life, and I know she is reclusive a bit.
Are you Irish?
Anyway, I would really love to know what she said to you, what she looked like, anything you can tell me. Will help make her more real to me, I idolize her.
I sing and it makes me happy, and I used to play clarinet and bassoon in band. I would love to be friends with you.
That's fine! =) Yeah I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be based on the Irish culture. A bard is a medieval person who would play/sing songs, so I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be an Irish song.

@AlohaMaggieSteele Close to the mark with that idea. The bard came in and entertained people over dinner, singing the day's news or some folk story.

Her works after "Shepherd moon" are totally pop songs.

The tune is medieval Celtic: would have been a dance. Possibly derived by Enya. Enya is incredibly the only musician you hear on her
CDs; except for percussion and bagpipes.
