This is a JOKE of a training,as it seems to a firefihgter, is how to stand by and watch a home burn while protecting some trees and grass training. totally un needed of donning of gear by so many firefighters . to not be able to train on an interior attack not getting to know the true heat inside prepared them for nothing. you could have done at least two complete interior attacks with search and rescue training along with a possible RIT situation. who ever came up with this was a idiot.
Having the Fire Department burn the house for them (The Home Owner.) saves them money from having the house demo'd. Protecting the trees teaches the trainies to protect outlying structures, when a home is fully engulfed, without actually putting other structures in danger.
Of course, Real Firefighters know that if they do enough training with actual burns.
I agree that interior attack and RIT training is important and necessary, but i don't think from what I have read the person who shot the video had anything to do with the training scenario. There may have been a safety issue that made the house unusabe for interior attack? Any way the videography and video editing is good.
If you new the true story behind this training... The county wanted the house burnt down n leveled, so the srew where practicing exterior attack, and the house was fully involved, why go in and risk human life
@FireFighterPerna we did make an interior attack and per county regs as i understand it had to be burned to the ground. So after the structure was unusable for interior work we stood by for exposure protection
aren't they supposed to be putting it out rather than letting it burn out. I had fire training today in work and we had to put the fire out not watch it burn
american homes are built of wood as a cost saving measure.. but even most brick homes have wood interior.. quite frankly also as a firefighter i would rather be in a wood framed building than aluminum framed.
I wish I would have been able to do that, but I'm not a firefighter. Just a person who likes to give credit to the men and woman who save lives. Thank you
omg i was there i live in north point acroos from dunkin donuts
