This is a fantastic show because I have played with these tablets. All the information so far has been bang on! I am going to guess that two tablets will bring two cups to a boil but will not boil it long enough to make water safe. For that you will need three tablets. Now to watch the next video to see what you have found.

Hi Hiram, i saw in ur esbit video you used half the cube and it was 7 grams standing on its side. you boil tested 1 cup of water. since this coghlan's cube is 7 grams. you should get a boil with one cup of water. so can you do a boil test with one cup please?

@hiramcook Hiram, as weird as it sounds there are plenty of us who don't ever get bored of watching you boil water. : D Personally I'm always pleased when I log onto my subscriptions page and see a new video from you. As for the thumbs down...what are ya gonna do? Youtubes full of drunks, trolls and 10 yo kids. Or maybe it's the CEOs from Wetfire and Esbit. Not only are these cheaper than esbit but the smaller size is nice. you can use one for a hot drink or two for a bigger boil. Also you can start with one and add a second as it burns out for longer, lower heat cooking.

Coghlan's tablets were my fuel of choice 15 years ago. I used them with the folding Esbit stove.

I respectfully request a two tablet test.

Good to see you found an economical alternative to the Esbit brand. That's a really good price. Same presentation as Gelert in UK, these are the tabs I turn to as one will make a decent single brew. I put mine in a vitamin tube, most convenient.
