  • i hear some tasty jungle

  • dont put that much current to such a tin wires they will get very hot and melt!

  • at 2:45, the legit way to burn a cd

  • How to connect the pins of a flyback Transformer using a 9V and resistor to create 3000V?I want to know how the pins must be connected of a flyback transformer. I have the wires, 200Ohm and 20 Ohm resistors, switch and transformer. I have everything but I wanna know how to connect it.

  • Your about as bad as me... awesome video lol

  • You ought to build a better enclosure. Current can flow through air without any visible arc. This can be observed by holding your output conductors far enough away that an arc can't be created, and you will hear a hissing noise. These are ion currents, and they CAN electrocute you. Try unplugging the leads from your HV output and listen for any hissing noise. If you hear it, you need to insulate better.

  • you a jungle man??

  • is that enough to kill or hurt someone?

  • Dude, your bed is not a workbench. Setting stuff on fire on your bed really isn't clever.

  • This is how i load my mobile battery! :D

  • I used 10 urns of primary, and 5 turn of feedback, and it worked fine.

Then I used 5 turns of primary and 3 turns of feedback,, and it didn't work.

    How come? :S

  • You can even literally slice the insulation on wires :D

  • the fuckin power went out at my house while watching this stupid storms ive got storms all week comin in

  • he really do not care about fire safety, if he did he would never have burn that stick over the bed... lucky for him something didn't flew off the wooden stick and landed on the bed....

    btw, where is the fun?

the only thing we see are some sparks and some damn high pitch annoying sound.. atleast take down the sound on the sound the sparks generates!!

  • 4:42 = Schockolate.

  • I tried doing something similar with seven nine-volt batteries connected in series, but I didn't even manage a corona discharge. Awesome video :) Also, accidental spectrograph at 2:33

  • What are you using as a power supply?

  • @Alex1M6 Just a 13.8v 5A supply

  • wooow

  • Can you cut tin foil using a flyback transformer? And how about etching pcb's?

  • It's alive ! :D

  • I have a problem. I think that i made the circuit for my flyback transformer right but theres somethin wrong-It gives out only 19 volts when i use a 9 volt battery! there are sparks but they are only about half a milimeter long. Why it doesn't make normal sparks and big volts?

  • Electrifying experiment...GOT IT?ELECTRIFYING?HUH?ANYONE?OH,C'MON...FUCK THIS SHIT, I'M GOING TO MOON...

  • how much is the input?i want to see if i can built one

  • So could i get the off of any old LCD TV i.e computer monitor? If so where is it located?

  • @loly617 you can find in old TV's ,however you have to be extremly carefull pulling it out cause it stores energy just like capacitors , you need a big screw driver to prob the two terminals so you uncharge it. be careful .

  • Your hotstick seems rather optimistic ;)

  • fascinating

  • isn't this the basis for the plasma speaker??

  • hea mate

ive got one of these and i cant find the datasheet anywhere

im making a plasma speaker with mine after i get the pins located

    any tips?

  • @clienthax Wind your own primary and feedback coil up, fire it up, take a ground wire at the end of a long insulated stick and look for big purple sparks.

  • i have a question can this kill some one ???????????

  • @1212fdfd no question about it

  • hhaha jacobs ladder from cartoons... mmm...frankenstein

  • if you lose this flyback may i have it?

  • reminds me of tesla coil

  • You might want to add a walton cocroft voltage multiplier to that, then you could have some real fun if you dont kill yourself first.

  • 0:38 reminds me of the gravity gun

  • primary coil is WAYYYY to thin.

  • Holy crap, that's badass.

  • i heard its impossible to do that to your hard drive i bet you 100$/£ that you cant

  • pa que sirve?

  • @2gogy

    para muchas cosas

puedes hacer plasma, encender un fluorescente a distancia (pequeña).. dar calambrazos..hacer un ignitor a lo grande..

    en fin..

  • sounds like a lightsaber! hahaha

  • cool!! wabba make one of these!

  • Nice job man! good setup too!

  • I was worried about sending my phone off for recycling, I now know how to erase the memory.LOL

  • Man I wish I had time to do idiotic stuff like this! My projects usually have a little more purpose in life than this too! BACK TO WORK FOR ME> ! My AC Hi POT will do these tricks.

  • cell phone!!

    Doctor its dead!

(jack). its ok we have this transformer to bring it back alive!!! turn on the electric fields!

(jim) ok zzzzzzzzz,,,,,,,,,,,,,zzzzzzz,,,,,,,,,zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,,,,,,,,,zzzzzzzzzzz,,, (jack) its alive!!!! wait nvm its dead agian F*** Turn the camera off!

  • @sonicxlc123 Haha brilliant :)

  • @sparkie21 hey um mr. awesome what power supply do you use cuz i want to make this and zap bugs

  • @sonicxlc123 LMAO ! XD

  • I'm notsure but I don't think that's how you're supposed to burn a CD.

  • thats how you burn a vd!

  • Dude, on your bed? Hope you had a fire extinguisher handy!

  • i have that exact same nail :) home depot?

  • caN u help me with how this works please and what component goes were..what coils to hook up

  • @metaltomato100 Google 2N3055 Flyback Driver

    Its a very simple circuit.

  • Comment removed

  • @sparkie21 i found the powerlabs driver but i could not find the right resistors. is there another circuit with more common resistor values?

  • i tried this before and the but the candy bar wrapper i used caught fire o.o

  • mmm... tasty ozone addictive

  • hi,

i'm trying to build a "plasma speaker" for an electronics project. we have all the parts (and schematic) in hand, and we're not sure how to set up the flyback transformer. we know for the "singing arc", one end is the thick red cable that runs out of the flyback, but where does the current from this cable jump to? it appears in this video that it jumps to one of the metal pins on the transformer itself. any tips would be appreciated!

  • where did you get plans ive been trying to find the for ages

  • @panzuman Just google: 2N3055 flyback driver

  • @jaredtkatz It goes to the ground pin. We made one from an oscilloscope when I was in electronics school. Just pull the anode from the crt then let it short to ground while injecting audio through the input. It works better if you let it arc through a flame though as the ionized gas aides in sound production....

  • The chocolate wrapper reminds me of darth vader picking up the emperor and chucking him off the rail in star wars :D

  • I touched TV's flyback tranz wire... It hurts

  • that looks fun!!!!! =P

  • I'm missing something here. Mine has the high KV output red and an orange and white. I don't see a ground, but assumed white. Is this correct, or is orange and white feedback/primary? Is ground one of the pins underneath? I've got an oscillation circuit I made with just a audio transistor with a oscilation control pot hooked to some power darlington transistors. HELP!

  • Do flyback transformers emit any radiation/xray when operating and when arcing?

  • they do inside a vacuum but other than inside one they do not produce any amount of x-ray radiation

  • Many who play with these things use a protective cage or box.

  • you have to test shortened / bring the HV wire near to each potted terminals to find out which one is the HV ground. If there are arching occur, then that may be the HV GND.

  • so flyback transformers plug right into the wall when you take them out of a tv?

  • i dont think they do :(

  • no no no no no! never put a flyback strait into and outlet. you need a dc current and a flyback driver. google it

  • No, you need a fast switching circuit (oscillator) to make them arc/spark. Some use a 555 timer or an audio transistor setup: Subscribe to "lidmotor" videos and he has it both ways.

  • This is why CRT's rule

  • nice that high voltage has nice corona wind

  • Idk why di you post tthat like 6 times

  • love the smell of ozone its addictive taste a bit like blood

  • nooooooooooooo!! not a nokia 6230 nnooooo the nice cellphone

  • yeah but it can be deadly if y smell to much :))

  • Yeah, deadly.

But as with all poisonous things:

Just because you breathe a LITTLE of it does not mean that it's not doing anything to you (you dont have to die for it to be effecting you).

Just being "slightly" poisoned WILL cause your health to deteriorate, shorten your lifespan, cause brain damage, nerve, neurological damage, etc... even if you don't notice it right away.

And when you start developing problems you wont remember where you got them from.....

  • Doesn't everyone here agree that ozone smells lovely?

  • @holycrapapie it smells somewhat like bleach to me. and it isn't good to inhale a lot of it

  • I wonder if you could use this to clean the tartar and plaque build-up off your teeth. Do you think it would whiten your smile?

  • for sure

  • also can you post a vid on how you made everything

  • what was your power source

  • Thats friggin awesome

  • thin cables for such a high voltage

  • its doing something to the camera...

  • my huge crt tv flyback produces 40kv

  • that fucking kicks arse

  • Check out my Flyback Transformer connected to a VoltageTripler.

  • Was that NOKIA6230 ? I't a good phone !

  • u have safe place to burn wood:DD

  • looks like you had a lot of fun!

  • Now try touching it. Joke. Nice thingy majiggy there.

  • a color tv flyback generates more juice but you can also try ramping up the input voltage as well with using the same flyback.

  • pure RF

  • at 1:23 is the cell screen lighting up

  • Bom pra desbloquear telefone celular...

  • mmmm beautiful boxed, nice arcs

  • do you use some special material and shape for the electrodes, or is it just normal metal in a pointy shape?

  • i can only get 1cm arcs! god dammit

  • me too. Any ideas?

  • put 2 turns on the primary and see what happens

  • The coolest part is when the CD got burned through and it started arcing across the gap

  • pain doesnt operate on frequencies....

  • sweet one!!!

  • next make a emp pulse weapon :D

  • what do you mean with "fun" the fun ends when someone gets killed. playing with arcs its no fun at all.

  • It doesn't have to go that far, maybe he's happy just frying random crap.

    Btw arcing IS fun

  • nope, not near enough power

  • oh... and how to power a flyback?!?

  • use google and search "flyback driver" :D

  • I did the same... but yesterday I touched the the flyback by mistake... OMG!!! That was a "shocking" experience

  • the flyback transformer arc burned you from the inside ( internal burns) the human brain doesent feel burning pain because of the flybacks frequencies, usually in the range of 17 kHz to 50 kHz

  • lol, tape it to someones chair

  • i don't get it? my flyback only has an arc of about 5mm and my other only gives off about 1mm? i tried every feedback and primary and tried different polarities! what's the deal!?!?!?

  • can u make 1 of these?? or do u buy? if so where?

  • u get the complese curcit out of a tv or computer monitor

  • you needn´t to buy one... Flybacks can be found in every monitor...

  • Didn't some older televisions use flyback transformers? I think I might have one and I'm wondering if it can be repaired.

  • how i made a tesla coil with a flyback?

  • fascinating. makes you think that ufo like tech is possible

  • and all of that out of a 2n3055?

my won't go for that long arc's.

only now i used some other transistors.

  • Urgent Help needed!

    Where to buy/find flyback transformer

    Philips AT2140/16 ?

  • You can found flybacks in an old CRT television.

But the best flyback are in the old black and white CRT televisions.

    Bye, Arma ^^

  • Nice transformer :)

Can you post the schema of this driver?

    Thank

    Arma ^^

  • Hey I'm pissed! I tried this on my new cell phone and now it doesn't work! LOL

  • I guess that CD doesn't work anymore... :)

  • Wow that's impressing !!!

(U use the dark side of the force)joking

  • Super excellent arc man well done

  • you need to get a flyback from a tv and still on curcit bord, it works better, :D

  • my fly back makes 1 inch arcs i zaped myself and i jumped im alive ritting this commment

  • OK, cool... however, why did you conduct the experiments on your bed and not a hard surface? (ie: a concrete floor) lol

  • why?

  • Why what? -- fire + beds don't mix too well. You just don't know what will happen, always safer to conduct experiments like this on a hard surface, even a dirty old board. Not a piece of paper and a bed...

  • tru if you touch leads on the cap it will hurt like hell

  • Poor phone :(

  • can i get the circuit plans?

  • on 0:23 it looks lighter than 0:26...

  • If you like this, then you would properly get off, on a job as a welder

  • Mmmm. Sparks.

Wonderful. Areal beauty of a flyback.

  • 0.006 AMP across the heart will kill u.

how do i make one of these things?

  • 1-5 miliamp, but heart fibrilation starts @ 30mA

  • CAN THIS KILL A PERSON??

  • Not sure, im not trying! Guess it will really hurt at least ;)

  • what does the flyback transfomer do for the crt monitor?

  • Provides numerous positive charges at the anode (front of the screen) to attract the negative electrons produced at the cathode (skinny "tube" in the back) and thus producing a picture when the negative meets the positive. it also makes a constant sound similar to those sparks.

  • Oh ok well ok thats ok i guess

  • It wont kill someone, because the amperage gets lowered tremendously to make such high voltage. But it will cause violent muscle spasms.

BTW, this is not from personal experience.

  • this energy can kill someone, if it can melt the tip of a tungsten electrode - used for welding - then that means there's alot of energy around that part, I'm building a singing arc by the way so I know a little about that :P

  • what is the purpose of a feedback coil? Is it needed?

    Thanks, great video.

  • your tv needs it

  • In this design, yes it is needed. In the ZVS circit, it is not. It feeds back into the transistor, allowing the circit to oscillate at the flybacks resonant frequency.

  • put a flash tube in that

  • HAHa that was fun try doing it with a dynamite set xD

  • lol

  • Aww this gotta be fun... And looks simple to build too...

    Guess i'll do something like...

  • please can you tell how do you identify the feedback, primary coil and secondary base pins on a 15 pin flyback? please reply

  • No wonder they call the energy bars!

  • does a pc monitor also have a flyback? (not lcd but the older ones ^^) nice vid by the way, inspired me a lot lol

  • it depends if its a CRT it has a cothodic tube so it needs flyback, if its plasma or LCD it doesn't

  • man, i've tried everything to get flybacks to work! i have three here (one with a cracked ferrite core) and two other that are fine. i drew the line when i wasted $5 dollers on a transistor (MJE13009) and it didn't work worth a shit! someone please explain to me why the hell it isn't working! and the one that cracked was a green dot flyback too! also give me suggestions on what i can use to make this thing work.

  • do what I did, find at least 3 of that transformators. Connect them to get higher current, mage yourself power supply with adjustable friequency and than you can get 15cm long sparx ;)

  • I have a "destroyed" 17 inch crt (my brother shot the screen) and I want someone to tell me how to do this!! PLEASE!

  • sweet. nice done... wonder what a frog would do...

  • that was AWSOME but if you get it out of a tv make sure the cirular thing that goes over th bulb is still on.

    makes bigger/better arcs.

BTW check out my dads vid.

go to my channel and under friends look for toommyg155

  • i was waitin for he wrapper part. ive done what with a modded bug zapper, just like 630v. nice sparks though.

    as a suggestion..

    try it with low light.

    cook some raw chicken!

    BACON!

  • That would make a nice jacobs ladder. Do you want to sell it?

  • Doing that to a CD is better than putting it in a microwave! :D
