@Alex50095 ...cont. 3... LOL- Oh and I'm definitely getting a 'Sports grill' next spring, stock one isn't great on an '08- '09. '10-'12 grill isn't as bad. 22k miles and runs like a well oiled machine. I'll probably own this car for 10+ years at least, it'll last that long too, it's a little beast! Best car I ever bought.
...cont.... Definitely a rear WRX swaybar and aftermarket front and rear endlinks, possibly STI 'Pink' Springs (slight 10mm drop, 25 percent stiffer), cross-bracing sold by SPT and/or Subaru to tighten it up. Not going to drop it, I like snow driving too much, and drivability/ ground clearance.
Cool man, thanks. Yeah, not a WRX- but still a great car. Got a fat warranty, so nothing major mod-wise. Got Bremmer Kraft BRO5 17x8 and 225-45-17 tires a while ago. Front lip spoiler, emblem delete, chrome trim to body color - Newport Blue Pearl. Blox 1lb polish stainless shift knob, stainless tips, some other cosmetic stuff, but toned down, not 'rice' LOL. Plan on maybe dual axle-back like Magna flow..
Love the video. Are you completely stock besides the K&N? I have a 2006 2.5i, it is an amazing car, grips the road like no other. I plan to just do a header/axle-back, and some suspension modifications like swaybars, bushings, and steering rack, and it should be even MORE fun. Its fine that its not STI fast, if you know how you drive you can whip a maintained Impreza around a corner like no other car. <3Suabru!
i have a subaru impreza 09 myself its manual/automatic ive been wanting to take it somewhere in a snowy area to test it any suggestions????? I also love the noise and the speed of my car its great
The K&N air filter probably doesn't get you even one extra HP in reality because the 2.5i is not limited by air restriction from the factory. Basically it's just a better air cleaner, but it will prevent power LOSS from a dirty stock air cleaner. I just helped my Mom buy a 2011 Forester Limited.. it has the 4 speed auto. It's not too bad but the 5-speed is definitely the sportier option. Enjoy your Impreza, it's a great car.
Damp double-post, I only hit the button once. Anyway.. you should have gotten a 5-speed stick, but I understand why an auto is way more popular- it's just easier to drive. I happened to get a California emissions car and it has 175hp. The K
Hi badb0ysparkz, Yeah winter is home for Subarus. I love driving it in the snow. There's a nice little trick that Subaru put in your Impreza for extra power when AC is running. It's in your owners manual. If you want full power with AC ON, Floor the gas pedal. The AC will automatically shut off temporarily to give you full power. It works- I tried it a few times, and it helps on hot days making a pass on the highway or using an up-hill on-ramp.

I have a 2011 impreza outback sport. The car is amazing but i have the automatic version they should of at least of had a 5 speed auto instead of a 4. In the winter the car is godly I ripped through the streets with no problem passing by ford suvs getting stuck in the last snow storm we had leaving more than a foot of snow. I drove this car wehn it got hot one day like 85 and the ac was on and the car seemed to have no power did that ever happen to you? I also have a hid kit installed.
@Piratejake86 It's a BEL Vector 995... - It's a hill with a little airport on top they use to launch gliders or "sailplanes". It's called Harris Hill located in Upstate NY. Elmira, Horseheads, or BigFlats is the town.. It kinda sits in the middle of those 3 towns.
Mine has a 16.9 gal tank. I've averaged 28+ mgp over last 4600 mi. My 5 speed manual has plenty of power.. it is a 2009 California model which happens to have 175hp for some reason and because it's a sedan manual trans it only weighs 3016 lbs., while imprezas with auto trans weigh as much as 3360lbs which is a big difference when pushed by 170hp or so. It is not a fast car by any stretch, but it isn't slow either. It gets from 50 mph to 80 pretty quickly in 4th gear for example.
Yeah it has tons of headroom.. I'm 5'9'', but I imagine a 6'5'' person would still have enough. They are solid little cars with a nice engine and AWD- also at a good price. I'm at around 16,000 miles and it's barely "broken in" yet. I'll have this car for 10 years or more I'm sure, long after it's paid off.
I got a 2010 impreza 2.5i and i don't care for gas mileage as much as i do for the safety of the car which is why i got it. Before getting it i test drove a new Altima and i thought it was a nice and smooth ride then i test drove a 2010 civic lx 4dr and i hated it and finaly i drove the subaru and the first thing i noticed was that i had a lot more room for my head (i am 6foot 3'' tall) and the low end torque and i love the symetrical awd which i put to the limit i give subaru a 9.8 rating!!!!!
@Subaru904 I've got a 2005 Altima 3.5 SE with 63k miles and this problem (google: 2005 altima manual problems- there is a perpetual master cylinder problem) I'm trying to decide if it would be better to keep replacing stuff or get a 2.5i wagon. Is there enough power for passing, etc? I'm a little wary going to a car with 80 less HP
@Piratejake86 Its a little slower then the 3.5 altima but i smoke the 2.5 altimas lol i would get the 2.5i impreza first off because of its amazing AWD system which is standard for all subies and because its one of the safest cars!! oh and its fun to drive off-road!!!!!! i do it all the time and its addictive lol!!! But you would save on gas with a subaru more then you would with the v6 altima oh and subaru wont have the problems that the altima has!! and subaru has A very powerful H4 EJ25 motor
@Piratejake86 Which has 170 lbs of torque at about 3800 rpm and 170 hp at about 4krpms!!! and one more thing the car has a 16 gallon tank which i can drive 420miles on with 17.8 mpg average!!
I love the car... I get 30 MPG on the highway at 70 to 75 mph. That's with a 5 speed manual and keeping air pressure in tires correct. The lowest I've ever measured was city driving in 95F heat with AC blasting, at 24.7 MPG. The Altima is a nice car too, maybe bigger though, not sure how fast it is.
Thanks... yup it's all stock. The camera seems to pick up a lot of bass and lower tones, but it does sound very similar to the vid. I do have a K&N air filter but that doesn't change the sound much if at all I don't think.
@bdub232 I was having a choice of ether 2010 2.5S altima or 2.5i Impreza with some SPT parts. What do you think of The 2.5i so far ?? I still wish Impreza had abit more good MPG tho.
