They never really chased him through the swamp. They just did all that because they wanted an exciting ending.

@mbabist01 I suspect he stole the car. He may have been a psychopathic nightmare, who was a sexual sadist, but he planned well. The stalking his targets, using the supressor. This bastard knew his business. I have to admit as much as I'm opposed to remakes, I bet a well written remake could be a hit.

All 70's horror films should be re-edited for sound. Fucking music back then is so incredibly unlistenable. This movie had potential to be awesome but the sound made the killer seem like a gay KKK burgler.

Its based on a true story. The killer actually wore that. Look up the Texarkana Moonlight Murders.

Jason's look could have been influenced by that.

Wow, never knew this was a true story, all I knew is that this shit was scary as fuck. Saw this movie at the theaters, when I was 7. It's even krazier to know it was real, I'm 41 now, so I'm good, until night time, lol. Oh, can't forget "Burnt Offerings", that movie still fucks with me!!!
