Unfortunately, heavy alcohol/drug consumption and diabetes don't mix very well, or Bud would probably be alive today. I know, I've seen him "party like a Rock star" many times in between set breaks when I knew him in Monterey. He was a great guy and never presented himself in a pretentious manner towards local musicians..
I first heard this not long ago on "An Unmarried Woman" with Jill Clayburgh, when she walks in on her daughter making out and chews her out. LOL I will confess that I thought that he was black when I first heard it! Amazing voice!
This tune will always be, cruisin the Grand Strand, in Myrtle Beach, summer '77. I wish I were up on The Pavilion right now, looking down on Ocean Blvd, with this song blasting from a 100 different car radios.
@x10048362 / heck they never play nothing but junk ! ( not so much junk as the same ole shit over and over)and theirs so much that they could choose from....peace
@x10048362 It's been ages since I've even heard the SHORTER "AM radio" version of this tune (which chops out a lot of the intro), let alone this full-length album rendition!
Ahhhhhhhhhh the wonderful 70's they were quite simply amazing, great music, real musicians playing real instruments and just having plain fun.You hear this songs and are instantly teletransported to that amazing decade in a matter of nanoseconds
@TheLeemasters I too have been looking for Atlanta June. There is one version on here but it is kind of a joke. It has Ozzie screaming at the beginning and noise of a little child playing with a train set all throughout. This ruins it for me. Keep on the lookout for a new one some day.
@NickPycks6 Well all I knew was I seen the same long-haired guitar player singing the song. I guess I got faces and names mixed up as I looked at the band members. Sorry! Sue me! LOL
Well, ev'rybody's heart needs a holiday sometime, And ev'ryone of us needs to get a away, somehow, So I'm laughing lighthearted moods, Oh, the sight-seeing afternoons, And tellin' a joke or two, cause ev'ryday invites you to find your place in the sun....
@Khultan It's time to find a place in the sun, Find your place find your place in the sun, It's time to find a place in the sun, Ev'rybody's panning for gold and you can find it for a price, And love always promises to last forever but sometimes it's just going down, Coz laughing light hearted tunes oh,sometimes they turn to blues, So tell yourself a joke or two, Coz ev'ryday invites you to find your place in the sun,
My favorite Pablo Cruise tune. These guys were very popular for a brief time during the late 70s. Their brand of slickly produced Pop/Rock was perfect for FM radio of the day. Its great to hear this tune after 30 years. Brings back many memories. I so miss the 1970s. It was a time where I found MY place in the sun.

How does one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time drop-out of the public view and die in obscurity? It is a shame.
