@beyonce12341 Ubuntu linux is a distribution from Canonical that centers around easy access and easy use, as well as low cost deployment. Great OS, but it has it's disadvantages.

You need the tar file to install it you dont untar it its not like unraring in windows

I'm afraid my system doesn't recognize the script and it opens it as a notecard (or something I'm a new linux user and don't know much)

every shell script is really a text file, if you double-click it you'll see it opened in a text editor like mousepad.

open in it the terminal, then the shell will execute it instead of thinking it a text file to edit
